We have fab rhubarb. Not in rhubarb triangle. One clump for main crop and another for forcing for early stems.

Agreeing with iQueen regarding landfill. Better a little money.......or if you can't be bothered for the small reward then give away.

I must be doing something wrong with rhubarb :( - I'm in God's own country, too.

I'm undecided about some appliances that don't get much use. Namely my Kitchenaid mixer (I think I already mentioned I no longer bake, so it never gets used) the main reason I hold on to it was how expensive it was. I did get it on deep discount but if I regretted it and wanted to replace it, doubt I'd find such a good deal again!

I sold mine before christmas on fleabay for £320:eek: I was amazed
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

I'm not - even before GBBO made them cult they held their value.

:) As part of my gardening yesterday, I made another cut through a damaged fencepost and another cut through a marker stake, to ready them to be firewood. And I looked again at the roundwood fencepost which was removed from the fenceline and replaced about 3 weeks ago.

The day before, I'd cut off the lowest foot of it, that had been in the ground and was very rotted, and put that aside to dry out for burning. But I'd stood the remaining post up against the shed, thinking about repurposing it elsewhere in the fenceline.

Then I thought how silly this was. It doesn't owe me anything, it was given to me, very elderly already, 8 years ago. It has fissures throughout the wood and, with some of it in the ground, would be about 3 ft tall. My fence is of varying heights, due to being made of random materials acquired at different times, but nowhere would a 3ft knackered fencepost be useful.

I have thanked it for its service and will saw it into sections, split those sections into kindling and burn it this autumn (no sign that this was ever treated wood btw so shouldn't contaminate the soil when I turn the bonfire ashes under).

I also noted at bedtime that my strategy of concentrating wear and tear on a few household textiles in paying dividends as I put the freshly-laundered pillowcase back on the pillow and realised that the paleness I could see was the pillow protector through the very thin worn bit of the coloured pillowslip. I shall now use the other side more, and when they're equally worn out, it'll be added to the rag pile. I have 6 of these matching pillowslips and will bring another one forward for service.

Oh, and I found another thing when putting the airing cupboard back together which I shall donate, I have it on one side to iron first, as will be ironing in the next couple of days, then it can go, too.

Mindful awareness. I think kondoing is sharpening our awareness of the things we own/use, so that we now notice the condition of items and can make decisions like this. Hopefully, such items will no longer be allowed to sneak the back of the cupboard to hibernate! :T

No, no, I'll be your daughter, pick me, me! :rotfl: (Now look what you've started... :p)

The unthinkable has happened, people. I have received an email this morning from the library. After putting a request in for it at the end of January, guess what?!

    IT HAS ARRIVED.

That's right, The KM Bible has finally been returned and a copy awaits my grubby little fingers. :j

No guesses where I'm going right now! Just what I needed to brighten up what is set to be an emotional week. :)

Ladies, ladies I'm not planning on going anywhere for a good while yet! :p :rotfl:

I'm hoping by that time I will have a lovely daughter-in-law or granddaughter to give it to! :)
