Anyone else remember Teddy Robinson? I read the stories myself as a child, then when I had my own children they were back in print.. I also remember stories in an annual about a teddy called Tumpkins, but no one else seems to remember him.
I remember Teddy Robinson, my Dad used to read him to us at bedtime
Good memories
Don't remember Tumpkins though.
I was a big fan of Swallows & Amazons too and the Narnia books.
Have sold 4 large plastic crates as I don't need them any more
And thanks to Jinny & GreyQueen for their heads up about grape cartons

Well I thought that I had finished kondoing and was maintaining a tidy organised house. Then I discovered the family history folder! Okay, so tomorrow I'm going through two huge mounts of paperwork and then I should be able to put everything onto a family tree. It's sort of exciting!

Haha! I have that waiting for me too... when I seriously tackle the paperwork category! I've done some miscellaneous papers that had to be dealt with immediately, but I have yet to round up all the rest, including masses of bits of paper and research notes on the family genealogy, which could be lurking anywhere in the living-room!
In the meantime, I need to finish the 3 categories that I am part-way through, before moving on.

Just popping i. To thank whoever it was who said about WD 'oiling' paper for the shredder - ours had seized up - now back working.....

Will start to sort through paperwork over the next week - need to buy some files - decided to go for the one each and kne for the house route. The kids are in their late teens now, so will need to access their paperwork for life stuff over the next few years - it,ll be easier to just pull out their file
. Again, thanks for the tips.
Off to try and explain politics to 18 yo DD who can vote for the first time - she admitted that she doesn,t have a clue, but at least its a good sign she wants to get informed before hand and WILL vote

I missed that - what is WD 'oiling' paper and where can you get it?0 -
I think it basically means give a sheet of paper you are about to shred a mist with a spray of WD40 and it lubricates the cutters as it goes though.I missed that - what is WD 'oiling' paper and where can you get it?

Take a sheet of A4 paper, spray it with WD40, fold in half and feed thru the shredder. I got it from somewhere on here and it really works. I wonder how many over-worked shredders have died for want of this simple trick? Hope to get a good long life out of mine, now that I do this.
Came home from work and found 2 letters from organisations I don't want to communicate with, one of them being the pesky TV Licensing. I gave up telly as a student 30+ years ago and periodically get harrassed by them, this being the 2nd time in three weeks. I returned this one to sender, too, and one from another organisation, plus have unsubscribed from an email list at a company I used do biz with, but won't be using again, due to lifestyle changes.
Have also put out the recycling, taken back some library books and think I might tackle a smidge of paperwork today. Sneak up on it little by little, get it gone without making a big palaver over it.
Will be having a pootling day tomorrow, getting the household straight and running some errands, so that'll keep me out of trouble. Keep up the good work, fellow konverts.
Oh, and Mum found the missing chequebook of hers - it was in the proper place but got buried under kipple and had actually been through her hands thrice in the search process without being identified. There's a lesson in there, somewhere....... Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
