Hi everyone :) I'm a weekend tidier and have the whole day to myself so plan to get stuck in. Undies, paperwork, receipts, handbags are all possibles so will have to see what takes my fancy when I head upstairs. There is also the dreaded very large "gadget" cupboard in the kitchen but that might wait until another day.

I've asked somewhere before but don't think I got an answer. Does anyone know anywhere other than Ebay to sell clothes, shoes and handbags?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

Faceb**k - have a look for for your local selling page - may be called something like For Sale in ( insert your home town)

  • I've put some stuff into a local dress agency, GreyQueen Butterscotch, recently - a wool Per Una very smart coat - over £100 new - I will get £15 for and they will mark up as £30. They didn't want my Jigsaw wool blend suit as apparently trouser suits don't sell well these days - I have sold it on Ebay this week for £25 though. They tend to have boutique sort of makes, designer stuff and higher end high st stuff - so Autograph M&S rather than normal M&S, Jigsaw, Coast, - that sort of thing. Handbags and shoes would have to be hardly used and decent makes. Also they will only have it in seasonally - i.e. I wanted to get rid of some summery dresses - one was Noa Noa, but they didn't want it till May time as they don't store stock - so I charity shopped it in the end as I didn't want it hanging round for months.

As a buyer, I find the style of stuff they have in there a bit "older" than I would usually go for (I'm mid thirties), but I have bought a few things from them previously and would have a look there for smart workwear if I needed it (luckily I wear a uniform for work which is a great money-saver ;) )
  • Last night I found more bags of carrier bags hidden in the corner of the spare bedroom- these are the type clothes and shoes come home in. As I was folding them up I was trying not to add up in my head how much shopping they equated to over the years.

Today I need to take a few bags to the charity shop. Apart from that I don't think I'll have much time for anything else. I've opened a new bank account so i need to go through all the bumpf that's been coming through. In the past I would have just put it in the drawer to deal with at some point, not any more!

I don't have any designer stuff, best is Phase Eight! I'll get going on Ebay, a few quid is better than nothing!

I have some more Sainsbury's bags to fold downstairs.:D I'm quite looking forward to doing it.:rotfl:

I have pared down my makeup so much and it's much easier just looking in the drawer and seeing everything I wear in one place.

Now I just have foundation, powder, mascara, eyeliner, one eyeshadow with three colours, three lipsticks, one lipgloss and one clear nail varnish. It sounds like more when I list it but it all fits in one small container. Brilliant.:T

I didn't start on my clothes, as planned. Instead, I have spent a few hours gathering up all the towels and folding them, putting them in one big chest of drawers in the small bedroom. I have just had lunch, reluctantly but the sell by date was today, but am in the process of marrying up duvet sets - summer and winter ones - and putting them in the appropriate bedrooms. I don't have a huge airing cupboard and it isn't easy to get into without moving the bedroom chair so I have folded thing that I don't use often but don't want to discard, e.g. seasonal tablecloths, table runners etc. I came across a huge amount of Hungarian linen that I bought from The Linen House when I lived in a bigger, older house. I still love it and can't bear to discard, or even sell it as I have a dream of living again one day in a period property.

My son popped in when he was in the area, at the dentist, and the phone rang a few times with arrangements for where I want to go for lunch on Mothers' Day and I have had to stop myself from getting a little bit irritated. I think I am getting obsessed but, at least, it is stopping me from spending money online on things I don't need. That, for me, has been the best bit so far, it's making me think carefully about what do I actually need and want.

    Onwards and upwards (upstairs anyway)........

I have just finished whizzing round DD2 room as she is home from a school trip on Monday - she needs to learn about the art konoism! She has been whittling away at it but needs to step up esp as she frequently moans about my clutter!!!! DD1 ( not living at home ) on the other hand has given me permission to give away her soft toy collection...........I shall not be blindfolding them :)

  • Stepped away from Kondoing for a break - on the first category of clothes - my lounge looks like a jumble sale with piles of clothes everywhere! Mercifully smaller piles than there would have been 6 months ago but still bonkers how much I have.
Can't wait to get folding. :)
I have made some good progress - a black jumper I have held on to for over 10 years :o is being thanked and set free. It's beautiful, very soft, but the style doesn't really suit me. Can't believe I've held onto it for this long.

    Well done all!
Allybee I've also been doing clothes today. I finished reading the book yesterday and planned to do all clothes today and I did it! It feels great. I can't believe some of the things that i didn't love! Have bags to go to charity shop and one bin liner went in rubbish. Have a small bag to go to other people (although she tells you not to ask them) and have half a bag of don't knows which I'll go through again tomorrow.
Putting everything away in the order she suggests colour wise was straightforward and I just love looking at my new minimalist wardrobe. Will have to keep up to date with laundry but that's a good thing.
Have a bit of a headache and have a craving for natural bio yoghurt so am off to buy some.
    Books tomorrow!
  • So many people doing well today! I've done a decent amount. I still have loads of undies to go through but they are out of my drawer and in a box. My undies drawers look very weird with hardly anything in them!
