    Good evening Konverts,

Re disposal of sharp knives, i read a tip somewhere on MSE sharp knives can be placed into pringles tubes and the like and disposed of in usual household bin.

I got through so much stuff today, i really got into the zone and achieved loads.

    keep on with the Kondoing

    regards

If anyone likes to drink wine, I have found that wine boxes make great containers. My OH likes to drink wine so I have cut up the boxes. They are great for stationery in drawers etc.

Thank you I have now a justified reason to drink more wine :rotfl:

We've put knives in the metal recycling bin for collection.

Hi igamogam - does it all need to be stored in the porch? Can some of it live elsewhere?

Unfortunately yes............large porch! Lots of comings and goings. Seems the obvious place to keep bags shoes coats etc that are being used now. All hats scarves and gloves have been sorted and stored in two baskets on a shelf and all coats etc now properly on hangers on the rail that was built in for this purpose! Garden boots/shoes wellies and walking boots I have now moved to boot rack 'around the corner' by back door of conservatory and a couple of gardening coats taken to shed:D. There was also a couple of storage boxes in there with toys that I am about to sell so have put these with rest of saleable stuff in spare room.

My disappointment was that I found little to jettison - think I had a major cull of stuff at the end of the summer. Anyway its looking neat and tidy and very echoey now............liking the echo/empty sound. Lets hope the kono magic means we will be more inclined to keep it like that!

OOh forgot to say - also konoed the cupboard under kitchen sink - juts a rearrangement really - throwing of a couple of redundant things, pouring similar cleaning product into one bottle instead of 2 half empty ones and of course ranger rolling dusters!

:) I read on the decluttering blog 365lessthings about the difficulty of getting rid of things with eyes. It seems to be a psychological issue for us human beans - it has eyes, therefore it is alive and has feelings. And so can't be decluttered. Perhaps blindfolding them is MK's way of breaking that bond?

Here's the bit, if you're interested:

I must admit that things with eyes give me the w*llies and I don't give house room to softies, dollies, knick-knacks in human or animal form or even pictures of things with eyes. It freaks me out having Things Looking At Me.

I have a vegetarian friend who never says she is veggie just that she doesn't eat anything with eyes - just spuds:D

No Kondoing done today as we had DGD but I did swap the rather flimsy foil boxes that I had used as organisers in the kitchen drawers for plastic ones.

I also went into the garage to check if anything needed tidying there. I discovered a VERY large box of photos (not more please!) and a solitary empty box. I am sad to report that I am excited about the prospect of Kondoing the box of photos tomorrow. I also have plans for the empty box mwahaha!

Interesting reading. I've never had a problem with eyes... then again, I quite happily chuck humans out of the door too if I don't like them :D

Good morning :) not much to report, just that im still reading the thread and keeping inspired to keep tidy (ish!) About shoe box storage, I used the lid of a box cut into lengths as dividers inside the box it came from, dressy scarves are rolled up in there, and popped into a drawer, saving me hanging space :D
