Welcome to new members !!
I managed to do one CS run but only got as far as packing Amazon trade as guilt got the better of me & I though that since I was working from home I should actually prioritise work lol - will do an early morning drop to the Collect+ Shop tomorrow & pop my old glasses into Specsavers for recycling en route.
Ventured up in the loft to find my collection of broken silver jewellery to trade in & while I was up there could see that it's jam packed with stuff that does not spark joy so I'll venture up there at the weekend to make a start on that. I also found a couple of drawer dividers that I was using for storage so brought them down with me plus a really beautiful pear tree basket that I've now put on display.Shifting my energy for 20200 -

same here pondskater, funny how it creeps up
Thank you so much for your responses re my kitchen, I will need to re-read the posts and take it all in, with some note taking. I won`t have to scrabble on my knees for anything in the future but I want to be very careful in case I order anything that won`t be 110% useful. I intend to be able to keep most stuff out of sight but easily accessible. I think I won`t order any of the extras as dividers etc are easily available afterwards and can also be made. I have been through all the items that I have and they all give me joy, so they will all somehow be given a home in my kitchen
KM was hard today, I put the boxes in my wardrobe and they are nice but I have too many crocs and they are relatively big and space consuming. I need to keep them as not much else fits me and I wear them 9 months of the year, so I have crocs on top of the boxes, which are 3 rows high as it is. It looks very neat though but I still have 4 boxes of clothes on the top shelf. I think I will have to be patient now, rather than ruthless as everything in there fits me and it would be too wasteful to throw more out. Doh, I have reached a brick wall if I am honest and need a break from it all0 -
. I am so wishing to be out the other side of the blinking menopause, I am so over this whole business, 38 years and counting, you don't get that for murder, for pete's sake............grrr!
l:
bleeping menopause, mine started at pre- menopause at 43, actual menopause at 53 and onwards and even now at 67, I still get hot at times. It is never ending and the last few years have been adding my share of aches and pains. The weather at the moment isn`t helping0 -

Mine was 50 and if I knew then what I know now I would have been straight down the doctors and demanded some of them patch thingies. Pity mum didn't live to see sixty and could have warned me
I have been thinking about why Kondoing works for me when plain old decluttering always seemed such an insurmountable mountain to climb. I find I like the feeling of finishing one drawer/cupboard/shelf and keep coming back and admiring it. So I think the sense of achievement seems to keep me going back for more.Haters are gonna hate - you're not obliged to participate0 -
Dear All,
I feel I have neglected you the past two weekends. I have been at a couple of conferences.
We are also waiting to complete on a property, it's all gone through really quickly but Daddy Rivett and I are very happy.
At the moment we are KonMaring our hearts out. I will update the Pinterest, so glad I use the Thanks button to mark what I have read. This thread has really taken off

I've been lurking/stalking you all for a while now but have been scared to make a commitment to Kondoing - even though I have bought and read the book too lol. I really like her systematic approach and am hoping to kind of follow it.
I did have a good go through my clothes at the weekend - but the joy thing didn't always work - a lot of my clothes are serviceable and keep me warm etc but there is very little joy in them. I guess this is a longer term thing I need to address. But the principle of thanking things for their use and letting them go really helped me get rid of some things. Toughest amongst them my grandmother's leather gloves. Which by now looked terrible. I thanked them for keeping her hands warm, had a little sniffle and let them go.
My biggest obstacle at the minute for clothes is my lack of drawers - DH hates them with a passion (no idea why) but I cleared enough wardrobe space to put some stacking baskets in there so that should do the job for now. An ikea trip at the weekend will take care of that and then I can properly kondo my own clothes.
The other obstacle is that DH is a hoarder. I was really glad to hear other strategies for this - the key one for me will be trying to hold onto the spaces I clear. I got him to get rid of two formerly white, now yellow shirts out of the probably 40 white shirts he owns so I guess that's a start. I failed on the flared jeans though....0 -
Hehe! I have let it go on the playlist. I am a podcast fan but find it hard to wait a whole week for another fix of the Archers, I'm a daily girl!
I listen to the Archers daily on podcast on the way to work. I love it.

Someone, I cannot remember who (migraine recovery no real memory) asked about a vision of what we want to get from Kondoing
Being ill on and off for 3 weeks I have spent more time than normal in my bedroom.
I need it to be a sanctuary.
Peaceful, welcoming, clean.
XXNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hi Buffy It was me who asked the question. I found formulating my vision really helpful. Your peaceful, welcoming, clean sanctuary sounds lovely.
(you have my sympathies re: migraine by the way - horrible things).
Anyone else willing to share their vision?Shifting my energy for 20200 -
My vision for my home
Each room to have a purpose
Bedroom...white.. peace sanctity restful
Kitchen....inspiring creative nurturing
Dining room ....hub...crafts...guest room
Bathroom...white...functional...
Hallway..welcoming...warm...uncluttered
Peter Walsh Oprahs decluttering guru
Says to look at each room and ask what you want that rooms purpose to be. Anything in there that doesn't support that vision should go.
