    Eek!
:) Eek! Just about sums it up, it was over a quarter of a century ago but it's still a vivid memory.

Came back from the chazzer minus the donations but plus fruit, veg and milk. There are about 4 chazzers open for 4-5 hours here on a Sunday, I am so appreciate of the volunteers who give their time and energy to the causes, even on a Sunday. If you're a volunteer in this sector (or any sector) you are an :A.

Am pecking away at the kipple (OK, I'm technically on a teabreak) and will shortly liberate the sewing machine. Have realised that sorting the injured PJs will cause the iron to go back into the cupboard (gonna use fusible interfacing, this is an L shaped tear), then the PJs themselves, then the sewing bits. Have a Plan, just need to execute it.

I expect people are interested. Speaking as a person with two handfuls of left thumbs and no skills at all in this department, I always wonder what people are making if I see them knitting or crocheting on the bus or train. Sometimes I ask them. It is amazing how many young women you see doing it, teenagers even :) Not being sexist - just that I haven't seen any young men doing so!

My mum taught me to knit when I was 4 years old. The trouble is, I never got any better at it. I am sure I could still knit a mean teddy bear's scarf which varies in width along its length, and is peppered with holes from dropped stitches though :rotfl:

As you all know im a bit of a yoo toob fan girl
there are lots of how to knit and crochet videos on there.

    Hello

Thank you for all the tips and links.

We are doing books today. I sorted mine last week. We now have 50+ books on the "to go pile"

As DS's games and some CDs were in the same cupboard we made a start on those. DS who is doing business at college, was busy totting up how much they'll sell for. He's up to £60. That's £60 to go towards his college trip in April. Result.

DH has sorted through some mags and they have gone into the recycling bag. I'm struggling to get him motivated to do his books,CDs and DVDs. Don't think his hangover is helping!

Cup of tea, then I'm back too it.

    Afternoon fellow Kondoers!

well was looking forward to a happy day of clearing the clutter (never thought I would say that!) OH off working so I could get on with it, sooooooo done the ironing, hit a few more drawers and now have 2 stuffed bags for the CS, happy days!

Then I decided to do one of my top kitchen cupboards, got rid of old vinegars and oils and gave the cupboard a good clean......then I looked at the tops of the other cupboards:eek: obviously not cleaned the tops of them for a while, joy oh joy, another job ......for next weekend methinks!

can't believe I have actually started kondoing books, turns out I am not as attached to them as I thought I was, word of caution though, some CS's no longer accept books, worth checking ahead if you going to hoike a ton of them down there, you really don't want to have to hoike them all the way back to your beautiful new kondo house!

    keep spreading kondo word

books our local fire station will accept certain types of books. They have a book bank right outside their front door., and for those of us who like a man in a uniform, always a chance you'll bump into a fireman:D

My local Red Cross Shop won't take books. They also refused sports equipment (good quality badminton and squash racquets) and a 5 person tent (used twice), but the Mary's Meals CS in a nearby town is now benefitting from my custom, as they haven't refused anything.

Another coffee and energy inducing muffin and then I need to sort and put back the papers I'm keeping.

It's such a beautiful day out there I ended up going for a bigger walk than planned. Almost kondo'd the dog along the way which isn't part of the master plan! Luckily another walker found her and phoned me just at the point I was starting to panic that I'd well and truly lost her.

Right, no more procrastination, I'm going back at it.......

We too have enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and had a lovely walk rather than stay in and de-clutter.
I think Spring is in the air, birds were singing with gusto, the light is staying for longer and we're all spring cleaning as never before!!

    Happy Sunday former messies.xx

:) Wow, never heard of a chazzer refusing books, most of them here are gagging for them, notices out and everything. They can represent quite a lot of potential profit in a small space, compared to clothes, when you think about it. But I guess if they find they don't sell in their particular shop.......

The donation bag I took out was one item of clothing, several books and some items which could collectively be called komono.

I can't believe it but I can now see the floor, the sofa and the tabletop, it did seem like I was just shuffling for a while back there but it was a false impression, things just needed to be dealt with. Have got the PJ bottoms mended and away, along with the apparatus attendant on that task. Have emptied the shredder and fed it a sheet of paper sprayed with WD40 as a reward for it's hard work. Having a quick cuppa (OK, I drink a lot of tea but I do other stuff as well - honest ;) ) before shoving the vac around, will go to my pal's asap the washer has finished and the stuff been racked.

I also opened 2 bits of mail which have been hanging around for a few days. One was election guff cleverly pretending to be something else, so I used the sheet of paper in that for the WD treatment and another item was mainly enclosures with a small amount of good stuff, so I have put the magazine aside for later and put the rest in recycling.

Very annoyed as these items were subconsciously nagging at the back of my mind, me thinking they were big ole important things which needed to be sat with and digested and they were nothing of the sort. I should know better by now.

Kondoed my jewellery box today. All tidied now and have reserved some elastic bracelets for granddaughter's treasure box.

I have a yukky lurgy today so not doing any more tidying. Hot curry, a tot of whisky and a night in front of the tele awaits.
