  • I got the book from the library before Christmas. We're nearly all the way through the clothes now; I have a big pile on the spare bed which are all to go, they just need sorting into 'rags' and 'sellable' before I take them to the charity shop.

I'm not sure if @konmaring is the real Marie Kondo, but I'm still chuffed that that account has favourited three Tweets of mine with pictures of my socks, pants and husband's t-shirts!!

Had a nice time this afternoon, kondoed a large ottoman and sorted out all the bed linens and towels. Found new homes for them and we can now use the ottoman for all the power tools which are currently cluttering up my kitchen cupboards.

Ok guys, let's put you out of your misery.

The original 1-minute-and-44-seconds, featuring the mistress herself. (Who also happens to be as cute as a button).

    Guide to folding T-shirts.

    Guide to folding long-sleeved blouses.

The principles are the same for every piece of clothing. Get it as rectangular as you can, and then start folding inwards.

What your drawers should look like when organised. You don't need to watch this, just look at the front page to get an idea of "vertical storage" in practice. KonMarie would have made better use of the depth of the drawer by making them long and thin. (KonMarie recommends light shades at the front, progressing to darkest at the back to induce tranquility :D). I didn't watch this link past the first 15 seconds as KonMarie advises against Lazy Susans :naughty:. So be warned: forget other "experts". KonMarie knows best.

    I love you!! Thank you.

Thanks for all the resources everyone. I've nearly finished chapter 2. I love the stories of mothers saying don't throw that out. Daddy Rivett would be the same.

Anyone thought about ebaying all the stuff rather than bagging it up. I'm thinking about all my DVD's books and collected toys. I'm sure I could get £1000's for it all, even if I sold them all for £1 each.

Wow Jinny! Do it on a dime is brilliant! I have just watched a few of her videos on youtube and will definitely be subscribing. Best thing is that each video only lasts about 3 minutes and isn't full of unnecessary waffle and she isn't perfect either. So much good info on there.
