Get a keyring with "Kim' s keys!" written on. (I've been given my keys by someone who recognised they were mine after I did what you did :D)

Take the key to timpsons, or a locksmith, they can copy the shape of the key and the code in the chip, for £30 or so, and the copy will work just fine.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
  • Timpsons can't do all the keys, but you might be lucky with an older Suzuki - its worth phoning and checking if they can do it or not as it is a whole lot cheaper, but I have heard of quite a few failures from them for other, newer fobs. Don't buy one off ebay though, as these fobs are useless unless they can be coded to your cars ECU with the proper software.

main dealer you will get a genuine fob and they may be able to code the new key in to "wipe" the long lost one as well, not all the third party independents can do that. I know BMW can do that, so a "lost" key can't be used to steal a car later. I would also take a look if there is an independent in your area who can do it, and what price they charge - personally unless it was massively cheaper I would go to a main dealer if Timpsons say they cannot do it.
