    Morning all

I'm back after a few days off to get some things done. Moving on now though and time for a big update as it is pay day and pay rise is included etc.

I have transferred the extra money using 0% transfer on CCV. There's a 4% fee working out at £80 which I hadn't added on to my initial forecast (it's been a while since I've done one, so I'd forgot!). Therefore, for a short period of time, I'm back up over the 20k mark. This will be back down at the end of May so not a huge deal. This means as soon as it's through I can pay my family back and that's out of my hair then.

My pay rise worked out £10 under what I'd worked it out (I was told % but not the £ amount). I am hugely pleased with the rise and it makes life a lot easier.

I've paid both the CC's for this month and transferred everything that needs transferring. The DD's will come out over the couple of weeks and the money is there and accounted for. Fuel should be a bit less this month as I still have 1/4 tank left. Having said that, I've spent on a gift I forgot to get meaning I rushed out and ended up paying too much. Even with the leeway I give myself, I'm now £10 short this month. I don't want to use my savings so mini challenge to make £10 on whatever - eBay, surveys etc.

In the CCV pot I have £67.50 (not using that for anything) and in my personal savings I have £250 which I need to use some of for birthday gift and hopefully save the rest. Also £25 saved for farrier next visit (works out £25 month over a year). CCV is going straight to card when I've built up enough. £250 is savings for house, Christmas, life, anything. Could be classed as emergency fund but they aren't always emergencies! I also have another £7 due in the rewards taking it to £35 which again won't get touched. I used to transfer it to my spending account but I will let it grow!

So a frugal, money making month is hoped for.

Managed to redeem £20 Amazon voucher (already knew about this so not counting it for this month) and used it toward a birthday gift that was needed.
Also have won £20 in M&S vouchers so I will peruse their website and see if there's anything that tickles my fancy or could keep for another gift. Having said that, most of the birthdays are done until the end of the year now.....

I have just lost a post!!! So annoying.

    It basically said:

I've gone against the grain and booked myself in for a hair restlye and eyebrow shape. Not sure what they will do with my long, straight hair but it's about time I started looking after myself a bit better. I am fully aware that over the last couple of years I have "let myself go" and I have done it knowingly and not cared. Well now life is slotting together and I enjoy it so much, now we have our perfect home etc, I'm starting to think more about myself. We only have this one life and I don't want my kids seeing me as someone who didn't care much about herself (despite caring for others and making others look and feel good) nor do I want to regret not making the most of myself in 10 years time or whatever.

So, this is the start of the revamp or whatever you want to call it. I'm not setting a time scale, only that I'm starting now. I want to look better and in turn feel better. I have an amazing life with the great outdoors and I get as much fresh air as anyone would need, however I don't make myself feel good by looking after myself. Don't get me wrong, I'm not down in the dumps, far from it. Total opposite in fact. It's making me want to make the most out of everything.

So I'll give myself a little bit of an overhaul, consider how I look more (seriously, if you saw me some days you would think I was a man, an old man too) and make more of a daily effort, get back into ahem, lady things, and try and lose a bit of weight that I'd started trying to lose in the old house. I had 2 stone to lose, lost one and stayed there. So another stone is needed. I don't stick to diets very well however I will look at them to get insight and educate myself, but ultimately I know what works for me, I just don't do it :).

Now is the right time to do this. I am on the last stretch of paying the debt off, I love my life, as far as I know I am in full health and I have an amazing family. Whilst everything is working for me, I should do this.

Thanks for reading, if you did ;):)

I have also decided what the savings pot, which the family loan was held in, shall now be used for. We used to go to London in December most years and recently haven't, so this year will be a nice little weekend break to do some Christmas shopping and take in the atmosphere. Looking forward to it. I have no idea how much we will need but it won't be cheap, never is!

Right, I need to get selling - I have loads of stuff (horsey) we don't need or use. lovely headcollars that are just too big, likits before they went to sugar free, rugs of all sizes (other than what I need!), bridle parts (spares, may keep) etc etc. I am going to have a good root through as soon as time allows and 3bay, prelove whatever I can. Then I can use the profit towards the £10 I need to make, plus the fly rug money for 3 equines!

To keep me focused I want to include how much my debt is costing me. So the latest money transfer to pay family off was £79.79 in fees and £15.78 of interest. This interest is the residual that was left when I tranferred the previous balance to the 0% card (I didn't have 0% on this one at the time). There's a new balance of £2750.77 of which I am paying interest on circa £900. If they have anything about them (the CC people), when I make my payments, they should be applied to the oldest debt first and therefore the interest should be less each month.
The other CC which is all on 0% has £4198.75 on it.
The remainder of my debt is made up of 2 loans which are currently £6839 & £6506.

Total debt owing is £20293 adding those figures up. When you compare it to my starting point I am 'pleased'.

    Debt was £39302
    Debt is £20293

    Reduced by £19009.
