Oh dear OP.
I am so sick and tired of people who are animal rights protesters posting graphic images of animal cruelty on facebook.
I know that it happens, and it is dreadful, but I wish people wouldn't do this.
I'll happily watch/view anything, so long as there is some worth to it, a donation I can make as a result, a real petition I can sign.... but people spreading the misery needlessly do my head in. Think I'll come off Facebook - I remember there was life before it lol0 -
I saw a picture very recently of something really quite disturbing on Facebook. I was so furious because this person had shared this picture (as opposed to a video where you chose to look it it) so I had no choice but to see it and it put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
Yeah this is much worse - seriously irritating. People just don't think, or maybe they do and want to bring everyone else down.
Can't even remember why I clicked on it. Curiosity got the better of me I suppose - I click and watch loads of videos all the time. Need to be more careful.0 -

I think it has more to do with entertainment than animal rights. There are a lot vile videos out there being shared, including murder as the OP has mentioned (The Dnepropetrovsk maniacs). Moreover, it is perfectly legal to view, not that I would.0 -
I saw a picture on FB a few days ago which made me feel sick to the core. Actually it was a video but i obviously didn't look at the video cause the picture was enough.
I reported it when i saw it and i did check this morning but its still there so i reported it again.
Ive done my bit i cant bear to look at it again. Its up to the rest of the world now to do its bit. I'm done.
I'm hoping given time it will fade from my memory.

I think Facebook is quite vile really. I mean they should not allow all those videos of animal abuse and other questionable things. People do not need to see it, as all adults know what it means. Its just sick really.
They wouldnt allow images of child abuse on there, rightly so. Why then is it o.k to see animals being tortured? It downplays the severity of it and legitimizes it I think.0 -

Get some new friends? My news feed is full of cute babies, fluffy kittens & sunsets. I've never seen anything remotely vile.0 -
One of my friends on FB was complaining the other day that several of her wedding photographs were deemed 'unsuitable'. They were pictures of her bridesmaids in their dresses with bare shoulders.
They were quick to whip those pictures off but it seems a man having sex with a corpse wasn't bad enough to warrant a ban. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
There are petitions I sign but I wont and can't click on the images, however I do imagine some animal charities put up disclaimers to say that some footage will be disturbing, because I bet that unless some people see it, they don't believe it actually goes on.
Hillside animal sanctuary posted some footage online about an undercover investigation they did in a slaughterhouse, I couldn't watch it, but if some people could and did and it opened their eyes to the abuse that is going on, then I can't say they are wrong to have shown it. Any decent campaign will always tell you before you click that images are disturbing and you can then make your own choices. Places like Hillside always tell you that any footage that accompanies a campaign has graphic footage if it does and Ive often signed petitions for them and other places and not watch the footage. I don't need to, but some people might and some people also might want to and be able to.
Animals shouldn't be tortured, that's my view. If facebook helps people raise awareness fine, it has its up and down parts, all I can say is, if some people are feeling fragile, there are always ways you can support certain animal charities or petitions without having to see graphic footage. I support several and I don't watch the graphic stuff, I just can't do it.0 -

I saw a pretty disturbing video years ago and have flashbacks to it to this day. It cripples me when I have them and can't get it out of my head. Completely ruins my day.
Came across another vile video a couple of days ago and fear same thing is happening again. Seriously feel suicidal when I think about it as can't believe this disgusting !!!! happens and feel totally helpless.
Anyone else seen something they can't shake? Is this a form a PTSD?
I will say one thing, nothing is worth feeling suicidal for. If its cause you feel strongly about it's possible to do your bit to try and change things without having to watch stuff that makes you unwell.0 -
When I was ten I saw "The Finishing Line". It was screened on Nationwide, the current affairs programme after the six o clock news. By chance, none of the adults in the house were in the lounge when it was screened - just me - and it gave me nightmares. I remember running out of the room crying and being told not to be so silly of course there were not images of dead children on TV.
It haunted me for years, gave me nightmares and panic attacks. It's only about five years ago with the might of the internet I was able to google and discover the name of the video and prove to myself that I hadn't imagined it. I'm too scared to watch it again however.0
