Anyone know where I can find cheap car tyres in Belfast or surrounding areas?

  • Hi

I always use R&K Blair in Straid which is a wee villiage just north of Carrickfergus. He has always been much cheaper than any quote I have got anywhere else including on-line supliers. They are friendly, quick and you don't need an appointment!

depends if you mean cheap tyres or cheaper branded tyres... personally i wouldn't put cheap tyres on my car, having some decent rubber on there could make a difference between life and death. lately i've been using hursts tyres at sydenham, i'm usually a hurst-hater but that tyre place is really good.

    Must agree!

You get what you pay for, very cheap tyres wear out very quickly and are not value for money

    Hi
depends how far out of belfast you want to go, I use a place off the Moira roundabout, forget the name but take road towards Glenavy / airport, it not very far, behind a garage and cafe on the right hand side.

  • Try Carryduff Tyre Centre Ltd, Comber Road, just past Carryduff Car Auctions. Ask for Robert, he will sort you out with a good deal on all the top brands. If he hasn't got the ones you want, he'll get them for you - usually the following day. Top guy and a first class service. I always use them. Previously, I used Central Tyres behind the Fire Station in Ormeau Avenue - they were good too.

Recently tried a mobile fitting service called Hometyre. They came to my house and replaced 2 front tyres. Not only where prices good but it saved me loads of time and having to sit in a tyre depot for goodness know how long. and better still there was no call out charge what so ever. They will also quote you a budget, mid range and premium option. The mobile unit they use seemed really well equipped and what gave me more confidence was their technician really seemed to know what he was doing unlike some of the garages I have been to in the past where the prices have been ok but they allow a 17year old kid to hack away my precious alloys. I have booked him in to replace 2 tyres on my wifes car next week. First time I used a mobile service. Would strongly recommend.

You're right. Read it back and it does sound like a bit of an ad. Been driving almost 18 years and during that time never had what you would call a great experience when having tyres changed. This was just so easy and different. All I had to do was give the guy locking wheel nut key and left him to it. 30-40mins later job done. Must admit once I'd booked it I didn't really know what was going to turn up, thought it might be some bloke and 2 tyre levers. But this van seemed to be kitted out with some pretty impressive gear. When I booked the missus motor online I see they have a little video clip on website which shows process.
All I can say is I found it good.
