No it clearly stated you could not rejoin within 12 months.

Maybe they just didn't like you ;)

I find it hard to believe the scores of people in this thread just got lucky with rejoining inside 12 months (some within hours of being cut off)?

you could be made to pay monthly fees from when you left to rejoining

:rotfl:The operator is having you on! So you fulfil any minimum term, give correct notice, leave for say 5 months, then rejoin, and have to pay the 5 months fees where you didn't receive Sky? Have you got a copy of the chat as they obviously don't know what they are talking about and I could do with a laugh tonight! :D

so if you join within 12 months they they now class you as an existing customer

This is just as I said. Sky won't allow you to have new customer offers. However, it doesn't mean you can't rejoin, or would have to pay for any time you didn't have a Sky subscription. In fact, Sky actively bombard people to get them to rejoin. As I linked to above, there is a dedicated thread with many, many people who have left and then rejoined with discounts.

No it clearly stated you could not rejoin within 12 months. i have just checked this with them on live chat and they changed this about 6 months ago, so if you join within 12 months they they now class you as an existing customer and you could be made to pay monthly fees from when you left to rejoining

Why would you have to pay when you haven't received a service. Sky will treat you as an existing customer because you have already received a free box and installation.

People on here need to read. i stated
YOU COULD BE MADE to pay monthly fees from when you left to rejoining

i would rather believe sky than anyone on a public forum, especially when that clearly cant read

    None whatsoever.

You carry on... you seem to have it all under control.

Oh... just one question... remind me again why you posted?

To vent, as the title of this forum suggests;)

I'd rather believe my own and others actual experiences!

Have you got a link to where it says that please? My cancellation letter, and the numerous mailshots since from Sky, mention nothing of that. Would be genuinely interested to read that as I've never heard or read of it happening before.

The only similar thing I know of is if you leave within your minimum term, and wish to return, you have to settle any fees owed to Sky before they will reconnect you. This would equate to whatever monthly fees you were paying.

    I'm sorry you're mistaken.

As long as you quit outside a minimum contract length then you can rejoin sky whenever you wish for no financial penalty. This has been the case for at least the last ten years.

Your second statement where if I rejoined say ten months after I cancelled I would be made to pay ten months subscription for a service I had not been receiving is one of the most ridiculous statements I've read on here!

Why would a company stop people from joining their service?

Ive highlighed the important word there. It dosnt say you WILL it says COULD. I suspect that line exists there purly for people who canciled by default (ie closed their DD and walked away).

That line doesn't actually exist in any of sky's T's & C's. It's just what the poster believes to be true.

Therefore "could" or "will" is irrelevant as neither is actually the case.
