I wonder if the tenant will pay any more rent today since the fixed term expired yesterday.0

Huh?
I'd understand checking court records and birth marriages and deaths records, but police?
I doubt they'd be able to say anything, or even be remotely interested.
I think it's definitely worth contacting the police. They might not be able to tell you anything, but this is such a weird situation that you may as well contact them. Maybe I just have a wacky imagination but they could be a missing person and the contents of the property could help in some way. Maybe that's a bit daft, but I doubt that tenants pay upfront for 6 months before disappearing often. Sorry if this has already been said, OP, but have you tried contacting people on his Facebook friends list?Save £12,000 in 2015 – 03/03/15 - £3000

Might be wise to ask the police to check that he is not there. He might be stuck in the bath or somethingDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0
