    I think it's definitely worth contacting the police. They might not be able to tell you anything, but this is such a weird situation that you may as well contact them. Maybe I just have a wacky imagination but they could be a missing person and the contents of the property could help in some way. Maybe that's a bit daft, but I doubt that tenants pay upfront for 6 months before disappearing often. Sorry if this has already been said, OP, but have you tried contacting people on his Facebook friends list?

    Might be wise to ask the police to check that he is not there. He might be stuck in the bath or something
