Some big sofas come apart, although these might be pricier ones. I know of somebody who bought a sofa and it simply unclipped in the middle - which they didn't know until they were moving out and one of the removals men said "Some of these.... ah, this one does" and promptly split it into two pieces.

Also, there's a company that sells furniture that you build yourself and can take apart too ... so if you're likely to move a few times in the next 5 years to smallish places etc then it might be worth being aware of them http://www.nabru.co.uk/

it should **Just** fit if the hallway is wider than the front door.

That gives the sofa room to twist in at an angle.

Also if it's getting delivered by the company that makes the sofa, then the guys will have a few tricks up their sleeves to get it in in one piece!

If its a brand new house ,you might have been better to buy the sofa first & put it on the foundations & build the house around it,:D

Any manufacturer that makes a sofa that doesn't fit through a standard 2'6" internal door would seriously reduce its customer base.

I would check your measurement. Doors on new build properties are wide enough for wheel chair access.

That is not an excessively large sofa, mine is larger and went through my front door. Ask at the shop where you bought it / whomever is delivering it to confirm that it will fit.

If it's a large sofa it will come in sections. Either in half or with the Arms separate. Otherwise it will be small enough to fit....Stop worrying...
