Nokia Repair, Lloyds insurance or DIY
I've cracked the screen of my new Nokia Lumia 1020
Should I claim on my Lloyds bank platinum account mobile phone insurance plan? It has a £50 excess but I'm not sure if if it will invalidate the Nokia warranty if I use their repairers.
Nokia care centres will repair it but it will cost £100
I have a kit from ebay for £10.99 to do it myself but am sure my warranty will be compromised.
What do you think?

call the insurers and ask them would they cover the repair if sent to a nokia repair centre as its still under warranty
If the phone is still under warranty then DIY would invalidate the warranty and the same if you took it to a phone shop to do it0 -

Lloyds Bank insurers, Lifestyle Services Group (LSG), who act for a number of banks and phone sales companies with mobile insurance add ons have said that they cannot cover the repair by sending it to a Nokia repair centre.
Indeed, they said that they couldn't specify what repairer they would send it to, or that original Nokia parts would be used.
Pay up £100 and keep my warranty, I think.
And buy a better case for it
Anyone want a screen repair kit for a Nokia Lumia 1020?0 -

well even if you went through insurance it would cost you £50 and no doubt a larger premium on renewal. Stick the repair kit on ebay or better still on a local facebook selling group0
