Always use m1, leeds to sheff

Advarage speed cameres because of road works, ive always gone through them below 50mph and some at 60 / 65 and its been ok, also seen people blast through as 70 +

Last night i went through the first one at under 50 then at the seccond set i got flashed at 60 / 65 and then flashed again on the 3rd set at 55, then no flash as i went back to 50.

how does that add up. Odd.

Didnt even think they worked.

is it going to be 2 separate fines and points or just 1 ??

I presume the ones that flashed you are not average camera's.

Average ones are usually specs type where it records all reg numbers and the computer works out the average speed and issues a ticket.

Adverage speed cameras, them yellow ones that hang over each lane, infa red yeah. It was in that zone i saw a flash as i went passed the cameras hanging over the lanes.

If they dont flash then i dont know what it was.

The gantry cameras will flash if you're speeding.
Some are positioned at the top of the gantry and some are about halfway up the left-hand upright post.

I'm sure I've seen a flash from a Yellow Alien before now, but put it down to maybe a flash of reflection from a lorry headlight?

No gantry cams there. It was clear road. Just road work signs saying adverage speed limit 50mph and them yellow infa red cams.

It would make no sence to flash anyone for over 50mph if its adverage speed check and them infa red cams are monitoring

OP, in the past month you've posted about hitting 2 cars and being accused of hitting another, and now you've been speeding on the mororway and are seemingly unable to describe which type of cameras they were. Should you perhaps rethink driving for a while or have some more lessons?

One would think its ether adverage speed or its a set speed limit ??

Whats point in it been an 50mph adverage speed check and have them infa red cams if there going to use other cams to flash people doing more than 50mph ?

    Surley thats not rite ?

It's 2 completely different types of cameras. 1 is in the bridge-like structures over the road. They are behind the traffic and there will be small white painted lines on the road afterwards. These flash if they detect you breaking the limit (which can be variable).

Average speed cameras are yellow and mounted on lampposts at the left hand side of the carriageway. They face towards the traffic and don't flash.

Maybe they want to catch people who go for half the time at 90mph and the other half at 10mph to fool the average speed and below average spelling cameras?

the average speed cameras work by logging your number with ANPR when you pass the first gantry

and as you pass each subsequent gantry they log your number and the time taken to reach the gantry and as you pass the last gantry it is a time and distance calculation to work out your average speed

if the cameras relied on flash then every camera would have to flash every car at each gantry, it would be like a welding shop on a busy day with all the flashes going off
