My original post is balanced and totally fair. I cannot comprehend why people on forums seem to take delight in rubbishing other's posts - is it some kind of ego thing?
I posted a warning, not a vent. Heed it or not, your choice, but I don't see the point in analysing it to the nth degree.
It is unfair, you ordered on Xmas even and payment was taken 9/10 this would be all automated.
you are deluded if you think they would deliver on xmas day, even if someone did work on 27th and get all orders ready and if they used Citylink as their main courier. CL went bust on Xmas eve, so in effect they have no courier to deliver goods. so all goods still in their warehouse while they have to locate another courier which will not be an easy job as they would need to find one that offers them the same rate as CL and collect bulk collections as i dare says yours will not be the only delivery waiting to go out. and all this over one of the major holidays of the year where couriers are over stretched. They may not even work over the holiday period, so orders wont get packed or sent out until today at the earliest.
why post an unfair warning about a company that may has been using a courier that has gone bust. this is not the companies fault.0 -
When did I ever state I was expecting delivery on Christmas day!? Honestly, the hostility and arrogance on this forum is palpable. I was under the impression this was a forum for consumer protection. I posted my experience because an online business took an order, promising next day (business day - for those who will take delight again in pointing out the next day was 25th December) delivery. They have had five business days to contact me and return my attempts to contact them. If they are, as some suggest - perhaps quite correctly - closed for a holiday then they have a responsibility to inform their customers of this at the point of ordering. If you aren't thinking of ordering from them then fine, if you are, then perhaps wait until you can get a telephone response from them to confirm timescales for delivery. Pointlessly and often highly presumptively criticising a post such as mine just because you have an opinion based on no experience of the company and certainly based on no experience of me, my trustworthiness, ethics, morals, business experience etc etc is wholey arrogant and unhelpful to anyone who genuinely wishes to use this forum to seek advice or offer experiences to benefit others. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. your goods may have been sent out, but if you are not aware Citylink went bust and no deliveries are being made, they have 30,000 parcels at CL depots, which their customers must collect before 6th Jan. so they might have staff having to drive to various CL depots to collect what parcels are in their network and not have time to contact all customers. you need to give them time to sort all this out.0 -
Please people, read my original post. If it's helpful to you great. If not feel free to ignore it. I certainly won't bother posting on this website's forum ever again. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You mention emailing them before instigating chargeback, have you tried contacting them via the phone numbers on the site?0
-
Absolutely yes. On ringing their number I get a message saying their call minder service is full. I have also emailed the proprietor at his alternate business email address. So I've done all I can. I only posted to give people a heads up! I am quite able to sort things out - just wanted to try to be of help. Either the chainsaw will arrive or the charge back will be given. Either way it will be resolved. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

but you are wanting people to avoid a company that your order from on xmas eve and have not got any goods are cant contact them over a holiday period and the courier they mainly uses has gone bust.
Many companies will close totally over xmas/new year, so you wont get them and will be the reason their message machine will be full as if they just use CL a lot of people will be trying to contact them about orders placed.
they may not have come to your order yet and may have decied not to answer phone until they sort the CL issue out and recall orders already sent, as just think if people keep calling them every 5 minutes then how can they sort out orders already sent and at the same time deal with customers on the phone. they could be just a small 1 or 2 person online business0 -
Rolls eyes...The only thing I want - (but forgive me if you already know this as many of this forum's most vocal members seem to have psychic ability and the qualifications to judge another's actions instantly) - is for people I do not know but nevertheless wish to help, not to get caught out by the potential misfortune that might (might) have befallen this web-based company. No more and no less. Since posting my experience I have been called deluded, a liar, and treated as if I were an idiot by forum members here, some of whom clearly never even read my original post but merely wanted to sustain the vitreolic unhelpful responses of others. How disappointing. Maybe I should draw attention to how sad it is that a forum for consumers is effectively closed to honest contributions made in good faith, due to its cohort of patrolling 'advice givers' who seem to forget that if people are put off posting about experiences, good or bad, that their advice will no longer serve any purpose! For goodness sake people - if my original post was not relevant to you then why can you not simply ignore it rather than call into question my honesty or mental capacity or level of delusion. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. you have been given advise (text removed by MSE Forum Team)
1. you order xmas eve
2. YOU mentioned 'I looked at their ordering info page and it says they dispatch by City Link within 24 hours.'
3. This would never even happen
4. you try and call during the xmas holidays and then tell people to avoid them as they have not answered or replied
5. It seem they use City Link which has gone BUST.
would you rather them answer phones/reply to emails every 5 minutes so taking up all their time
or
would you rather them try and locate parcels they have already sent out and recover these so they could arrange another courier to deliver them.
their is nothing that you have stated or anything on their sites to say they have run off with anyones money or packed up.
IT IS CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS0 -
Op think you need to wait you are stuck at the moment between two events christmas and a courier collapse. For info we ordered from a major chain on the 27th only heard back from them today, this sounds like a smaller company so you probably need to give them a little slack at least until they can resend your item0
