We've tried loads of new recipes recently - all from Prima magazine. A sausage and walnut pasta dish, baked bubble and squeak (with brie, cabbage and leek), a chorizo and pepper bake, Chinese pork wraps and veg topped potato cakes. They have all become new favourites to be added to the meal plans! Next one to try is a chorizo and broad bean risotto.

Tried the apple and parsnip cakes tonight (like potato rostis), yummy! The flat bread recipe is lovely too.

    Will keepmfollowing oust with interest.

I have just come across this thread weeks after getting rid of loads of cookbooks. To be honest they didn't inspire me so there was no point in keeping them.

I'm really struggling with food at the moment. Im totally bored of it and my four year old is as fussy as can be. He used to be very good but since i went back to work and had less time to spend with him around food he has changed. I want to change this while I still have a chance.

I have picked up a few cookbooks from the library lately and been watching Saturday kitchen. I find Tom kerridge makes me drool whatever he makes so I may treat myself to one of his books. Can I ask What Tom Kerridge book you have Pixie?

I hope I become inspired by you all, I need it.

  • Splashed out on a few more cookbooks recently.

    Mary berry cooks:
Citrus chicken - won't bother with again
Triple tomato rissotto - nice veggie risotto
Salmon and pesto encroute - kids not keen but adults loved it
    Jaffa pannacotta - absolutely gorgeous
Chocolate and ginger flapjacks - nice but prefer other flapjack recipes

    Mary berry Absolute favourites:
Saturday night pasta - not a hit here
Granny's little shortbead biscuits - nice

    Hairy dieters :
Blueberry pancakes - nice enough for a low calorie option but Nigellas much nicer (though far more calories)
Chocolate mousse - again nice enough for a light version but much prefer my grandma's rich recipe (when diet allows)

    GBBO Learn to bake :
Sunshine flapjacks - I put sultanas and glac! cherries in instead, these are really nice.
