I was tidying up earlier and came across a book on planning for a healthy pregnancy that I got free a few years ago from Tommy's. Just had a look on their website to see if they still send them out, but they don't. Rachy luteal phase is almost always 12-14 days - sometimes less but very rarely more. So if you've seen a consistent gap between ov and AF before then you can work back. Even if you haven't you could count back say 14 days and see if it correlates.

Like I say luteal is the bit that is generally consistent, it's the ovulation that moves earlier/later x

The luteal phase is the time between ovulation and the end of your cycle. This tends to be fairly consistent in length for people even when they have irregular cycles. It's why tracking ovulation is so important and difficult as with irregular cycles it's the time before ovulation tgat varies in length. I know my luteal phase is usually 10 days, whether my cycle was 26 or 34 days long. So if I missed spotting when I ovulated, once AF arrived I would work back 10 days and be reasonably sure that's when I ovulated.

This only works if you have enough data to have an idea of how long your luteal phase length is. Do you? I only mentioned it because you were worried about not knowing when you'd ovulated because of not knowing if you'd dtd at the right time. However if I'm making things worse then just say as not everyone needs to know all of this. Keeping an eye on your cm and dtd every other day for a decent part of your cycle will often be enough, and you don't have to temp and use OPKs.

12DPO and no AF yet - my LP is normally 12. Temp consistent, dry sticky cm. Glow now saying next Friday for AF which is daft as that would be 19DPO... ridiculous!! So who knows?!?! The data in Glow is all over the place though as it still has my pregnancy on it so have a 104 day cycle in there... might start again with FF next month.

Had a weird dizzy spell last night which got me all excited but prob just got up too quickly!

So if it's 12-14 days between ovulation and AF then I guess that Day 16 is more accurate as my expected date of AF is Day 28 so that's 16+12. If I ov'd on Day 12 then that would mean AF would come on Day 24 which is way too early and is today!

I just am confused as I feel the positive OPK (Day 10) and CM (Day 9-12) didn't correlate to the date of ovulation in that there was a big gap. Because OH was away, we only BD'd until Day 12 so I am thinking it is highly unlikely I have caught this month. I have read some stories about it working with a four day gap (as sperm can live up to 5 days) so will try not to lose all hope. I have beat myself up though as we would've brought him back for one night but didn't because I thought the positive OPK was a really good indication of ov between day 12-14

AF arrived this morning... :-( not such a good Friday! Never mind. The positives are I can drink a nice glass of Prosecco in my hot tub holiday next week! X

It's possible you have a long luteal phase as I have a short one at 10 days. However it's possible you ovulated later than you thought. Had your cm dried up after cd12?

The Sperm Meets Egg Plan recomends dtd for 3 days once you get a positive OPK, have a day off and then once more as back up. FF recommends dtd once you get a positive OPK and to keep doing it (not necessarily every day but a few times) until you get 3 high temp readings confirming you've O'd. This is because it's not easy to be sure so you aren't alone. Plus 4 or 5 days is possible so fingers crossed. X
