Hi there. I know quite late in the year, but could I join you please?

This year was my mission to de-clutter.... I would love to get chickens in the garden and love sewing but never have time, but I feel like I can't really do these things until I get my home in order (at least partially).
Hello Turningacorner  never too late to start flinging clutter!

    124. Yin/yang candle burner that DH brought from his old life. Chipped and grotty now. BIN
    125. Odd curtain finial - doesn't seem to match anything in the house!? BIN
    126. Another broken coaster. BIN
    127. Plastic screwup Easter egg container. BIN
    128. Large cardboard box from delivery. RECYCLING

Worked through my room of doom last week, so I have a large box of shizzle to sort through and fling, donate, gift or BIN this week.

Welcome new declutterbugs. Hope your no longer needed stuff is exiting at a satisfactory rate, never to return 😃...
I have a few days leave as it's half term here. Hoping to do a few fun things with DS and DD, but also achieve a bit of flinging. Kids' bedrooms are in really good state, orderly and clutter free, but my room could do with a declutter session. Underwear drawer definitely needs a good sort!
Been keeping on top of lots of areas, but there are always a few battles still to be won.
DD had new winter boots yesterday, her old summer baseball boots have gone straight in the bin (not fit for CS, she's worn them to death) together with all the packaging from new ones.
Better get started. I've been sleeping until gone 9am last few days, think I must have been limping to my few days off work!
    Keep going all.

  • I know I shouldn't get it, as it's just more clutter, but I do read and pass on. I get a monthly glossy magazine free with my bank account and at present it's House Beautiful. I was very excited to receive this month's edition with the headline "The Big Declutter". Looking forward to learning lots of new tips for ditching what I don't need, it's basically just "here's lots of lovely storage you could buy to hold all your clutter"! Not quite what I was hoping for. I'll stick with the boards here, I think.:)

32-41. DVD box sets to charity shop
    42&43. plastic boxes, binned
    44. Old microwave, broke last week, and now binned.
    45. Borrowed printer - returned to office

Over the next week or two, I am going to tackle a cupboard full of old video tapes. Any which are old family wedding/birthday videos will be scanned onto disc, and most of the others will be binned. This will free up a lot of space, and get rid of stuff I haven't even looked at in years!

I also have two big boxes of paperwork to wade through.

And the most painful of all will be mum's wheelchair. I'm going to try to give it to charity, but somehow that seems like yet another stage of saying goodbye to her. I'd like to hand it over to someone who will benefit from it, but I dread seeing it go, if you know what I mean.
    2025 goals
    GC: April £100
Savings: save £6K (or move house)
    Health: Lose 3 stone
Mind: read at least 24 books

  • Late to bed tonight, been around the house and put back all the clocks, making sure I get my extra hour asleep 😊.
Few bits in a bag by front door ready to go to CS. A pair of boots, pair of tracky bottoms, small hand bag that DD informs me is too babyish for her now, pair of jeans. Hopefully add a few more bits tomorrow. Also, threw away cheap fountain pen that was a bit scratchy to write with.
Hoping to be a bit more productive tomorrow. Did get some jobs done today, but I was hardly Wonder Woman.
