So far this weekend I have managed to:

    * Deal with my personal emails, most of them have been deleted. I have also unsubscribed to quite a few newsletters.
    * A travel size shower gel has been used up
    * A frying pan will be given to CS tomorrow
    * A birthday card has been posted

The plan for tomorrow is to shread old paperwork from a previous address and also to do some sewing.

Well done to all for the decluttering you are doing.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Had some ebay parcels to post today so stopped off at the Clothes Bank on the way and dropped off a load of stuff that had been sitting in the 'Rehoming' sack in the hall

    504. 505. 506, ebay sales, one pair of boots and two books

    Into rehoming sack:

    507-514 eight CDs
515, 516, two pairs of jogging bottoms, one pair too big the other too small :o
517, 518, 519 THREE yes, count 'em....THREE English Dictionaries. One the size of a breeze block and two tiny little pocket sized ones.

and binned or recycled or a combination of both as appropriate:
    520 pair of holey knickers
521 ye olde cheque book stub (actually this went into the fireplace for incineration)
522 some tatty old braid from the sewing box
    523 magazine cuttings
    524 old filofax type thingy
525 old address book from the late 90s. I had a flick through it before disposing just to check there wasn't anything I needed in there, and did a bit of random googling to see what a few people I had lost touch with were up to. Unfortunately I found an obituary on the Daily Telegraph website for one person. Makes me wish we hadn't lost touch, and that I had known her better, seems like her life was even more extraordinary than I had realised. Feeling very sad about that but a long life, and lived well :(

    301. Tights ripped on trip to vet as dog kept jumping up on me as she was scared. Binned.

    302. Pet blanket binned as dog had a (not so) little accident.

    303. Recycling out as we bought new cat food.

Thanks. Hope you feel better soon.xxx

Thanks 115k. Yes I am feeling better today. I hope your dog is ok. Poor thing, the trip to the vet seems to be really traumatic for her.

DH dropped off the bag of clothes at the CS earlier, and asked if they wanted the bag of "rags" too, which they did, and saved us a trip to the clothes bank. He said the joy on her face at the donations made the act of donating so worth while :D

Since I'm supposed to be decluttering DH said I've got to declare the 8 books of postage stamps I'm now hoarding :D Whilst I always like to keep some stamps in, I'm hoping most of these will be kept for Christmas.
  • Today I took a further 10 books down to the charity shop, had a big sort of out toys and binned a load, plus sorted some into the CS bag, ready to drop off next time.
  • Went through the document folders and chucked/shredded a huge pile of paper, (grocery receipts from 3 years ago and many letters from the bank telling me I've not used my overdraft anyone?!)

Tidied up the spare bedroom/office, found two chargers for OH's old phone, trying to find where I can recycle these.

**Just reminded myself I have many old phones I was going to send off for recycling, will arrange that this eve or tomorrow :j**

The old TV has finally gone!!! Taken to the recycling centre this afternoon, the other spare room actually has room now :D

    Hiya everyone

Sorry not been about but was feeling a bit down and depressed. Feeling much better now as I had a great night's sleep (for once) and I've decided to ignore rude people, and their nasty comments, and not let it get to me any more.

I am still decluttering but have started in the big, big cupboard of files and paperwork. It contains most of our life for the last seven years since we moved here and has to be gone through carefully, making sure I don't bin anything important and remove all personal information. So I have actually emptied about ten files so far and have about another twenty to go - so will be some time :rotfl:

'See' you all later and hope you have a great week-end
