Morning everyone

Had a lovely, tiring and productive day yesterday, after cleaning though the house is trashed again, so a spot of deja vu cleaning today
OH bought me some daffodils yesterday which was really lovely and reminded me that I do love to have flowers in the house.
Other lovely things were some tiny snowdrops coming into flower and the gooseberry bushes showing the first signs of life. Right, well suppose I'd better get up and get on, as the landlord didn't come yesterday, I guess he'll be coming today, and as I guessed it wasn't OH who told landlord about the fence, but our next door neighbour, which is kind of annoying as it's like someone keeping watch all the time, but hey ho, we'll be buying one day so won't have to worry about all this soon.

I've managed it, I've managed to see a task from start to finish, and as is usual with the anxiety brain, it doesn't like you to finish things, as it wonders what it can focus on and procrastinate about next, so feeling a little deflated. Next though is catch up with uni work, then shower and scrub up for the week ahead.
Enjoying some gluwein and a fire, the brain wants salty snack food of which there is none in the house, but it also knows there is a supply at work, so actually looking for ward to going in, in the morning
Having a procrastinate about what to do with the cheque that I got for the car, pay a bit off credit card or the loan, or use it to complete another bit of the living room. I think really it needs to go on to complete a bit more of the living room. The anxiety tells me that I must do the right thing and not use it to buy something that will bring enjoyment, because if I do that everything will go wrong, but I know that I need to work through this and in a day or two these thoughts will subside. Feeling a bit down for the moment though. The anxiety brain is also telling me not to repaint my nails in a colour that goes well with my new ring, because the new ring is extravagant, and if I dare to have things like that I'll be punished, with things like the car going wrong-it actually reads as really silly when I write it, but that silly anxiety voice telling you these things makes it all seem very scary.

Ok shove off anxiety brain. I'm going to get that uni work done, then I'm going to enjoy a lovely hot shower and wash my hair and look bloomin' fabulous, I'm going to paint the nails and wear that ring tomorrow, to work, and defy all those nasties who judged me on Friday. Right. I actually enjoy lady time because I have to take ibuprofen and codeine for the pain, and for three blissful days (you can only take it for three days so you don't become addicted), I feel calm, confident, chilled out and relaxed, and I love it. So here's to the four week countdown to more debt-busting and blissful lady time. I'm so looking forward to May payday as this is when I pay off the loan and the m&s card all in one month. I know I shouldn't wish this year away, but I am kind of wishing this year away. Now have to reign in OH as he's talking about pergolas and all sorts for the garden-honey you got a loan to sort out the CC and get a car, it didn't make the debt go away and we are going to pay it off early. Anywho, going to get to work on shutting up the non-cheery brain, and actually get on with uni work ( I was going to start it an hour ago, but anxiety brain has me paralysed with whirly thoughts)

Managed to get all but two of the uni bits done, but the next section starts on Wednesday, so that's a section tonight and tomorrow. Woke up with really bad butterflies at 5, so feeling a bit tired, but going to master this anxiety today.
So to focus on the good.....going to wear my ring today, bank that cheque and catch up on uni work, ooh and watch a spot of Revenge tonight (that's my treat to myself), oh and I have a bar of chocolate at work and some of my favourite crisps. What's not to be happy about?
Have a super Monday

Hi!
I started reading your diary on Sunday and can relate to a lot of how you feel and things you do. So much so in fact that you motivated me to go and clean my windows  I haven't cleaned th outsides of them since we moved in a year and a half ago
. My kiddos thank you as they can now see that there is, in fact, an outside world after all
The way you feel anxious about your home etc is exactly like me too. I have been putting off buying furniture, photo frames bla bla bla as I felt guilty for buying things whilst still in debt but I went out and bought a load of stuff that was on offer and now feel so much better as the house is clean, (almost) tidy and has a lot more storage!
Looking forward to following you along your journey, good luck with it all, seems like you're doing great!! :beer:Amigo (49.9%) 24/01: [STRIKE]£2446.21 £2320.17 £1799.01 £1117.12 £775.30 £559.66 £435.21 [/STRIKE] £0

Welcome f0nz, and excellent work with those windows

After feeling more than a little chuffed for aquiring all my toiletries for £7 last night, I made a boo boo today. Went in to get some very MSE free samples of face cleanser today, looked a spot suspicious when a large bag was put on the side, and then alarm bells rang when she motioned me to the till. I had intended to buy this lovely facial cleansor in a month or two (one of my aims or goals or whatever was to try one of the nice brand face cleansers just the once, and I was crossing off a list of the ones I'd tried). I felt so embarrassed that she'd either mis-understood me or had in fact done it on purpose, but I didn't turn round and say 'no, I thought you were giving me a sample, not putting a full price on in my bag', that I just bought it. No she did throw lots of free samples in too, but £31 later, this stuff better be good.
Now I know because it is a good brand that I can use a tiny amount and make it last up to a year, and it does act as a makeup remover and moisturiser too, but I was trying to have an NSD, and it does mean that I need to alter my spreadsheet too.
The other thing was that I wanted to book a hair appointment and had been procrastinating about where to get it cut. I've gone really cheap in the past and my hair didn't look good and this affected my confidence, so I'd gone back to the dear one, but just had the graduate stylist (the cheapest one) each time. Well, last time when this new girl was washing my hair, I overheard her saying to the person next to her that there was a big knot in my hair and that it could do with some colour as it was dull. She did an ok job on my hair, but I'd vowed never to go back. Well, I walked by the other one I was going to try just now, and it looked a bit grotty, so I ended up back in the other one, and the only graduate stylist available is the one I had last time. It's booked for tomorrow. Grrrr it costs £25 and I begrudge paying it, but my hair is splitting and really needs cutting.
So the end of that mahoosive rant is. I'm feeling like a bit of a fool today, and have not been very MSE which is annoying.

Better now

OH reasoned and said I shouldn't beat myself up. Quite looking forward to using the face cleanser, and also managed to bag 12 free Kr1spy Kreme donuts. Saved four for OH and I and sent the other 8 round to the neighbours, who were delighted with them, so felt all warm and fuzzy

Awake at the slightly later time of 4 today, but decided as today is not going to be an NSD with the haircut and all, that i'm getting some herbal sleep tablets tonight as I really just want a decent nights sleep.
Face cleanser was amazing, couldn't believe how much dirt came off my face  and the free sample of moisturiser did make me look refreshed, perhaps I need to start investing in the face then.
Right, going to try and get some more Z's in before its time to get up at 6.
Have a good day. xx

It has been a steady week, the haircut went well and got the brows tamed this week too. One of the pieces of furniture arrived for the living room which has made the room look so different, it's so nice

Get my other decorative item for the living room today, funded by the cheque from scrapping the car. Other refunds to come back £5 from the breakdown cover, £30 from the insurance and I think around £60 road tax refund, all of which will get another piece for the living room- just a few more pieces to go and it will be complete, although I do like buying these things with vouchers and refund money
I'm so happy for the changes in my appearance this week-neat hair and tamed eyebrows, and for the change that I can see happening around me with the living room bits coming in (I was saying to OH that these things have been just pictures sitting in a word document for 2 years, and to finally get a couple of the pieces seems really weird). It's also reflective of how life is changing too, it's more grown up. Yes we still have debts to pay, but the good thing about all of this is that there is a list, it isn't just random purchases, so there will be a point where there is no more buying to do.
Anywho, it started snowing last night and this morning everything seems quiet. I know everyone moans about the snow, but I actually enjoy it, it makes everything look clean, there is a silence that comes with it, and the world just seems different for a day or two.
Friday today
Hope you have a good one. xx

Hey there
It's a lazy sunday morning here in Thrifty-land, need to get myself motivated and do some work on my course as I've had a few evenings off this week  by that I mean that the next part started on Wednesday and I haven't started yet
Gardening has been postponed until next weekend after getting all that snow, the Christmas decorations are still sitting in the study ( I should just call it the spare room now, as is basically stores my shoes and whilst there is a desk in it, there isn't an awful lot of studying that goes on in there)
So tasks for today are to catch up with my course, pop the hoover round and chill out a bit before work. Three weeks until more totals can be changed
I have Friday off too which is great- I really wanted to go to London, but I'm too tight to pay the price for a weekday ticket, so I'll most likely shred my paperwork and start my assignment instead. Oh yes, I know how to live :rotfl:
And the oven beeper has just gone off which means those cinnamon pastries are ready for breakfast
Cinnamon pastry scoffed, now procrastinating. Get on with that course Thrifty!
Oh and one last thing....the treggings have sprouted a hole, one of my bras is starting to fall apart oh and some new knickers needed too. Was joking with OH about what a sexy feast for the eyes that lot is :rotfl:
