Not at allA substantial inheritance when my first husband died meant I was able to invest in property that I now rent out. I do use a management company and have appropriate insurances and legal expenses but have a fairly good level of income from this. My current DH is in a well-paid job now, but his first marriage ended in a tangle of considerable debt, which is what I am still trying to get on top of five years later.
I am quite tight with money, having been very hard up during the early years of my first marriage, so I try not to waste pennies and am a bit of a bargain hunter too, which helps. I love cooking, so tend not to buy convenience foods either and have my Nan's knack of being able to rustle up decent (I hope) meals from what she called "orts" x0 -
You are doing really well Dizzy, thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about your first Husband though Xx
Paid an extra £5 to Barcl@ycard today. Couldn't help myself! Only £90 left to go on there, and so tempted just to pay it off but that would leave us short. Will have a think....Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Good morning all! Another good news! The child benefit came through the bank account last night which I have forgotten to include in our budgeting. So I decided to divert it straight to the EF account making the new total £1072/£1000. Next phase is the fully funded EF equivalent to three months living expenses and mortgage overpayment. I am loving this challenge. It gives me back my gazelle intensity which I have lost a bit after becoming debt free."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150

Good Monday morning peeps!
Just transferred £51.88 to the emergency fund (£43.45 left over from last week's grocery budget and £7.43 interest and cashbacks from Satander 123). Emergency fund total now £1124.13/£1000.

Evening everyone...
Overpayment of £3127.62 for me this week. I think anything else this month is unlikely due to looming vet bill _pale_0
