  • Oh also I finally got my refund for a pet feeder I sadly didn't use. So have an extra £19.99 received this week!

    I am grateful for:

*Being asked to be Maid of Honour to my best friends wedding yesterday
*Going for a gorgeous stroll along London's South Bank yesterday (I love my city!)
*my wonderful friends who just out of the blue this weekend have sent me lovely messages of love and just telling me how much I mean to them. I seriously recommend you to do it to your friends. It takes two minutes to write yet has left me feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for them and left me playing it forward to others.

Hi everyone :) Lilt, I hope Jellytot has made a full recovery :) Stewby, take a look at holiday pirates if you haven't already. It's a great site that lets you in on untold and plain ridiculous, holiday bargains :D You may be able to get something as I now you have a specific pot for travelling.

Today I'm thankful for : the little fella telling me he will always be there for me and I'm the best mum in the world, when I feel so low (pmt) and feeling fed up with work. There is something very humbling when you realise that no matter what, to someone, you are enough as you are and they don't see your faults-why does this dissapear when they hit their teens :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Having a job to be fed up about in the first place in this economic climate.

Finding Les Mis on Netflix to watch on my lazy afternoon :)

Still haven't been able to read up on everything, have had more spends than not admittedly this month, but am determined to kerb it and bring my DFD forward! Hugs to all those that need them :) Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

  • been awol from MSE for ages but got to get on top of things. An hour trying to get dd to do a budget was the most frustrating thing ever and I realised I am only so knowledgeable thanks to my MSE friends so thought I had better pop back. And I do love a challenge..... but think this is too hard for me :(

Anyway, just wanted to say you are all inspiring and I am laughing at the term roadkill - taken me at least half an hour to work it out!!

Hi all, still here and up to 11sfd. Still having trouble with charger but want to go as long as possible before getting a new one.

Have spent a little on food and will update when I have added the receipts up.

Weather isn't great but managed to get to work OK this morning I'm just hoping it doesn't get worse over the next few days.

  • nsd lost due to sister deciding this morning that she would come to tea so had to go and buy brocoli as that is the only real vegetable she'll eat. Really annoyed as she told me she couldn't come when i asked her during the week.
    Things i'm grateful for
    1) family gatherings
    2) wine to help deal with family gatherings :rotfl:
    3) that DD1 has returned from london safe and well.:j

  • Evening all :D

SFD #11 caught. Everything else stays the same which I much prefer ;)

Dinner is in the oven, a repeat of yesterdays NY Deli chicken with chips and onion rings. Why fix what isn't broken eh!!

    Have today:
Made a huge sticky picture with Jelly which still has not dried in the 8 hours since it was finished thanks to Jellys liberal application of glue :rotfl:
Made 2 batches of playdoh - red and yellow and glittery which has kept her amused for a couple of hours today. My cutting out needs some work. I made a penguin and she said it was daddy :rotfl:
Baked my first ever loaf of bread from scratch without a bread maker and it is amazing! SO impressed with myself... it is just perfect!
    Baked flapjacks. Ate flapjacks :o
Made a big batch of fridge cookie dough and baked just 6, of which there is one left. Not bad... :o Jelly helped!

Am going to make carrot and coriander soup after dinner and then have a shower and chill out for the evening!

    Today I am grateful for:
The instant effect of Calpol on a high temperature
Being blessed with good baking/cooking skills
Lots of fun and cuddles with Jelly

P.S SFD would not have been caught had it not been for the bread making skills!! :D phew!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
Apple, Lilt & Blubella - thank you all for the kind words regarding reusing my unspent travel budget. That all makes sense to me. And thanks for the tip on cheaper frozen fruit too.
We do have an Aldi but it's a 30 minute walk in the wrong direction . I will be using every means to try and stay on track till the 30th comes though so may find myself there in any case.

Today I worked 5 hours, nothing too challenging. My husband took our son out for the day cycling which they both enjoyed.

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. You guys! Thank you for all the support through what is undoubtedly one of the trickiest months I've had in ages.
    2. Being able to see the end of January (shouldn't wish my life away but...)
    3. A clean & tidy home. I have spent the last year decluttering in a big way & it's starting to pay off.

    Night all

    Bob
