In terms of problems in the house, he hasn't done anything as far as I can see. He's just kept himself to himself and gone to his room when I've been in. I'm still keeping the precautions of keeping phone / wallet / keys with me at all times and not leaving the dog alone in the house with him

I would add your laptop (if that's what you're using) to that list.

By the way, well done you for also protecting your dog :T

Only just re-visited this thread. He moved out today with no issues

Thanks for your concern by the way!
  • Glad to hear it was resolved with few problems. Bet you feel a lot better now.

Thanks. He was actually quite amicable in the end and I ended up feeling slightly bad about kicking him out, but there was no going back.

Got 2 viewings on the room over the weekend so hopefully it won't be sat empty for too long

At this point I would be changing the locks.

I may be paranoid and a cynic, but those of us that are don't get surprised very often.

I too would change the lock. Better safe than sorry.

Keep the old lock, and when your next lodger leaves, change it back again. It's called recycling!

agree with this - easy if you have a couple of lock barrels, would suggest whenever a tenant / lodger leaves
