    If it's £15 every 6 months isn't that £30 a year ???

I think its been calculated as

    99p for the SIM
    £5 topup
    £15 6 months data
    £15 6 mobths data

    £35.99

    or £36

or in fact buy a sim with £5 already on it, and save £5.

not the way you wrote it as it looked like £36 for 6 months

Sorry I was referring to the method of topping up every 6 months.

I'm currently using an EE SIM in my iPad (prev 3UK). The 3 deal was £56 for 12Gb over the year, roughly 1Gb per month for £4.50.

The current EE scheme is better at £14.99 for 6Gb that lasts for 3 months (so I'd get 24Gb over 12 months for £60 or £5 per month).

The caveat is you MUST dump the SIM and replace it every 3 months as the bolt-on costs are considerably more expensive than starting afresh. As I recall they want £10 for 2Gb so as they say, a big 'no brainer'.

With the T Mobile 6 month option its £36. Nearly half the price! The MSE way! (ok 500MB per month)

I therefore think it was worth discussing!

Bear in mind what the OP wanted. Low usage and hassle free.

T Mobile. Only £16 for the first 6 months.

Actually your suggestion was 500MB per month for £50 per annum.

It was I who pointed out that it was in fact 1GB per month for £35.99 per annum. ;)

But I'm happy to share the Thunder on this occasion. :)

You are really getting yourself in a muddle with this. ;)

Back to post #10, where I posted this: You would start here, top up £15 and then apply the first pack. After six months(you top up £20 at this stage), the second...for a total of £35.99.

The FUP is 1GB per month now, not 500MB.

    Arh I see. So £35.99 for 1Gb a month for 12 months.

Anyway cheaper than your first suggestion.

I've had a couple of the T-Mobile SIMs and to be frank the Internet service is relatively poor. I think they say that they cap it at 4Mbps, but it was much slower.
In fact EE happily just gave me credit on an EE SIM instead, as the T-Mobile one was pitifully slow.
It's why I suggested the EE SIM firstly, as he might not buy back to back SIMs anyway, dependent on his usage pattern.
I still use T-Mobile for my BlackBerry service, as it the best value for money.

    It's GB, not Gb.

Still the same. Streaming and downloading.

I have one of those sims in a dongle, and it does seem genuinely unlimited. I have downloaded updates for anti-virus, games and Youtube and despite a slightly slower speed, they worked fine and no texts at all from T-mobile!!

They are good value I may say.
