  • Morning everyone

Day 2 of the cruise, mmmm what's for breakfast?

How did those dried out looking ferret and pilchard sarnies get on the menu?!
Igor, honestly, not everyone shares your unique food preferences.I don't care if you feel homesick!:eek:

The North Sea is very choppy today.I'm sure that we will already have enough people feeling seasick...:eek:

I need to join in, I haven't done it for the last couple of years but this is part of my New Years Resolution, along with Grocery Challenge, dieting, growing more etc etc. The new me is about to emerge.

Aiming for 15 NSD this January.

Welcome!Wow,you've got a lot on. Good luck! :j
  • Breakfast buffet is now being served in the Stuffyermush Cafe on deck 7 - and I am pleased to announce Igor and Swedish Chef have nothing to do with the catering as they are also on holiday with the rest of us.

Today we will call in at the Shetlands so we can all pick up a nice Shetland woolly jumper - we are going to need it as there is a cold weather front a-coming! For those who are not planning to go ashore there will be a gin rummy tournament in the saloon bar. No, Swedish Chef, that does not mean a competition to get as much gin and rum down your neck as possible. It's a card game.

And Hubert........I know I said about picking up a little woolly jumper, but I'll say this now......leave the sheep alone!

Oh lovely,we're stopping off in The Shetland Isles.I have loads of family there. :D
  • Would really like to get spending under control. I have an out of control student husband and feel I need to take control of my own spending! Can I try for 10 no spend days in Jan. Already managed one as I was hungover yesterday!

Wow! I wonder how much the Sheltand Isles have changed since I was last there? And last time was much this time of year too - we were actually there at the end of January 1979 for the Up Helly Aa festival. That was my third visit, having been up during the summers of 1975 and 1977 (?).

Direct Debits went out, and shopping for trainers has been done. Hoping that's it other than groceries (and maybe petrol) until 8th, which is my next expected Direct Debit day so will probably visit Costc0 the same day.

Have had to go and buy a cereal bowl. The guy I share with who is a kn*b used up the last of my toilet paper on New Years Eve, that evening when all the shops are open, so I left a note asking him to give me a loo roll. He did but he's left me an identical note asking me to replace his girlfriends cereal bowl, the one that fell off the 'Everest' size draining pile about 2 months ago. I offered to replace it at the time and she declined!!!!

Hence today I have had the unavoidable cost of a cereal bowl (in the sale) and other than that NSD 2

In better news....1 week to house purchase :j:j:j

A working weekend awaits, so should get two more NSDs then. Today was spent doing some shopping in town, including spending sixty quid in B00ts gift cards! I am determined to cut down on my use of supermarkets this year, I find them too expensive and stressful at times. I am not a lover of going into huge shops the size of an aircraft hangar and packed with people.

Are we all wearing our posh new Shetland jumpers tomorrow? We have a day at sea before we call in at Iceland on Sunday ( no, Igor, not to stock up the freezer with chips and party foods, I mean the country Iceland. Yes, the one where that volcano Ygg-something erupted). We will have a lovely excursion to the hot springs - knitwitch stand by to issue everyone with hand knitted bathing cozzies!

Eyjafjallajokull? Igor, you're showing off now!

And Hubert - get rid of that sheep.
