I bought most of my presents this year with Amazon vouchers saved up throughout the year from surveys. I think 80% of my presents were paid for this way. 10% was bought with gift cards that I'd won and the remaining 10% was paid for with cold hard cash :rotfl:

Everyone got what they wanted and I didn't get into debt. I still have nearly £50 left over for next year :T

These are only 3 of the presents bought for my daughter with the vouchers:-

Molly - if I can help? with the photo, here is what I did.
I always use my old desktop computer. I have not yet worked out photo's on my ipad mini.

I upload photo's from my camera using the connecting lead onto the desk top.
Join photobucket. Then upload the photo from desktop to my personal page. Once I have the photo in photo bucket I quit and come back to MSE and write my post. Save then go back on to photobucket and click copy over the photo and come back to MSE. Click edit on my post and paste at the bottom of my writing.
Bit of faffing around but it seems to work for me.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)

I don't think you'll encourage people to share their bargains on here by only handing out badges to those able to post photos.

I've received a badge (thanks MSE Badger) and can't post photos. If you can post links that might help - that's what I did.

Some great bargains everyone. I'm now thinking that although I did quite well, I ought to do better next year. In this morning's post was a free razor from Gillette (from the freebies board quite a while ago). I thought I hadn't been successful, as it was so long ago, but now I have put it away for next year. I just need to decide which son to give it to - my youngest was there when I opened the envelope and he has his eye on it!

Finally found the link of the deal that I bought the sleeping bags from for the Homeless charity. Didn't think to check in the expired section :o
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5140648

They were originally £20 each and with a 10% discount added on top of the sale price I got them for £2.70. Bought 11 and donated them to the charity. They were gratefully received and I am happy to do my part as it has been freezing here this past week and can't stop thinking about those poor people sleeping outside :(

The fact that your moneysaving also helped others is wonderful and totally deserves a couple of badges. It is the true spirit of Christmas, well done :)

(cant upload links due to being a new user!)

Sorted the image for you - MSE Andrea :)

This was my bargain given out this Christmas, bought January 2014 and wrapped pretty much soon after. Everything including the wrapping paper cost less than £40. It included a pretty canvas photo, girly bedding (quilt cover, pillow case and fitted sheet) various bath gift sets, bath salts, 2x dressing gowns, 2x slippers, 2x jumpers.

I will be doing the same tomorrow once i get paid.

3 weeks ago in a very small Boots, i got two 100ml bottles of CK one for £13.72 (RRP is £38 each, i got them for £6.86 saving over £31 a bottle) I also got a 100ml bottle of lacoste blanc for £9.50 - RRP is £43.

My biggest bargains are always on holidays- but that is a whole other thread. (for example Haven holidays, 7 night, 8 people in july 2014 for £73, saving over £400-

Majorca September 2013, All inclusive 5* hotel for 2 adults, flights, transfer & baggage inc £280 total.)
Finally dealing with debt: 01.01.2015 -£10,562.:(
    01.02.15-£8820 01.03.15-£8066 01.04.15 £7036 01.05.2015- 6128 01.06.15 £4957

Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2015! #59- £5605/[STRIKE]£10,562[/STRIKE] 53%
    2015: Sell £1000 #69 £510.97/1000
Virtual sealed pot challenge #24 £32.19/£300
  • My best so far have been several nail polishes reduced from £17 to £3 each, and a custom perfume reduced from £45 to £10. Unfortunately I can't post photos, as I'm still waiting for them to arrive (the clever people at Parcelforce sent it to the wrong place to start with!), but I have some links to the ones that are still in stock:

    http://www.selfridges.com/en/azature-lilac-diamond-nail-polish_464-3002900-91037434678/

    http://www.selfridges.com/en/fragrance-lab-two-five-nine-fragrance-50ml_483-220414-TFLFIE259/

All found thanks to the list of sales in the MSE tips, so thank you!

Also got quite a lot of wrapping paper, gift bags, chocolates, cakes, and gift sets at 75% or more off in store at Waitrose today - so I'm well on my way to sorting out next Christmas too! :j

I was over the moon with the Tesco Hudl2 I was able to purchase for my Mother in Law for the unbelievable price of £12!!! (A saving of £117) thanks to Clubcard Boost. My Mother in Law who has wanted a tablet for ages was moved to tears on Christmas Day when we gave it to her. I also purchased a set of silver and freshwater pearl jewellery for my Mum thanks to the weekly MSE email from John Greed. The set usually retails at £99.95 but I snagged the lot for just £14.50 including P&P (a saving of £85.45). Some fab bargains have been found this year. Well done to all money savers! Aww thank you FZwanab :) I like to try and do my part for those less fortunate than us. A friend of ours slept out on the streets for 48 hrs in November to help raise awareness off the problems faced by the homeless here, and we have been on the bandwagon ever since to donate as much as we can to the homeless shelter. The sleeping bags were great! and I was ever so thankful for the person who posted the deal on the Grabbit board.
