Know just what you mean Fuddle I used to iron everything spending hours a week on it. Now I just iron my summer clothing at the beginning of the season.
Well viewing of the flat was cancelled at the last minute due to workmen doing repairs. Well I think I will start packing with the few boxes I have got. No strong ones so not a lot will be done.
I think I am most annoyed because I did not sleep a wink last night until just before it was time to get up. I could have stayed in bed a bit longer.0 -
Mend - I've put a new piece of elastic in a secondhand winterskirt for dd1. It's a lovely dark green rib with tiny blue, light green, and orange flowers, with a thick brushed cotton underskirt. It was just way too big because the elastic had been stretched by the previous owner: my niece, which my sister keeps filling up with candy, biscuits, and chocolate....:(Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

Hiya
Nurse Maggie - how dreadful for you - I know the feeling - you get all keyed up for something and then it doesnt happen! I have had 12 viewings of my house but no joyI spend so much time getting the place immaculate and my hopes up!
Been frantically painting for past 2 days + working + doing stuff for CAM!A. Doing too much and not sleeping well. Dont know what I ve said or done but DS1 has not been in touch since my Bday on 20th - I did txt him asking if I had done something wrong but hes not answeringNo idea what to do - we usually talk any issues through in this family. I do know that his live in GF bans him from being on his phone all evening - which I can understand but he needs to have sometime to communicate with other folk in his life.
Need to find a resolution - any ideas?? :A
Today treated myself tonite as I only had 15 mins between finishing work and leaving for a committee meeting! Had a Burger K!ng - real rubbish food for once! :rotfl:
Tomorrow - one more wall to do! And then can read stuff from my writers circle - never seem to stop!
Anyway - no MM&M rally today!

Oh Lynne, bloomin kids you never stop worrying about them no matter what their age.
As you know my son is in Canada doing winter sports. I didn't hear from him for ten days so I sent a message on fb to ask if he was very busy or paraplegic. He sent a short message back saying he was working 6 till 6 then snowboarding all night.
I cannot imagine you have upset your son one bit,it will be a variation of my tale. You could phone him in the daytime,or get his brother to txt him.Bloomin kids eh.
Me n Mr V had words yesterday over my stepdaughter.I made the mistake of going in her room,he made the mistake of defending her.Ha hahaha.
The builders are scheduled to start next Monday.I need to move a lot of stuff.I didnt unpack as I was waiting for this.Do I throw dust sheets over everything or move about 30 banana boxes out.
Spent last night listing stuff on eeeeeeeeeeebay.I want to make £60 to pay for a light fitting I have seen for when we have the hall done.(2nd hand at that)
Made a wreath for the front door at weekend with greenery from round and about.Looks nice with some red ribbon I had.

I'm constantly stitching together a nice black part wool trench coat I got for £2 from a car boot sale two years ago. The pockets are often fraying, and in a few places the seams are, but it's still going strong. I've even sewed a new internal pocket that I made from an old shirt sleeve. Next job is to fix that, as it's unravelling a bit in one place. The thing with the coat, the lining is old and it just tears in places with a lot of wear...
I work in a charity shop, and the manager was sorting through some Christmas decorations that had been donated; there were a few that were a bit broken, so they couldn't be sold. So I asked if I could have them. I got them literally out of the bin, gave a donation to the shop... anyway, I'm going to patch them up and have a few decorations this year.0 -
Hi Folks,
I've had trouble getting onto this site the last couple of days - don't know why.
Anyway, to report on my MMMing. I absolutely hated the 1930s door on my airing cupboard - not that I've got anything against 1930s style, it's just that all the rest of the doors in my cottage are of the ledge and brace variety ie in keeping with the age and style of the building; so I have covered the panels in ticking to match the pelmet and the lining of the doors on my bathroom cupboard.
I've also minimised by giving my Ddil a couple of old sweaters (holey and beyond repair) for the school's ragbag.
And I'm also making do with food this week, at least until tomorrow as the new Aldi's is opening in Louth and is supposed to be the biggest (up to now) in the country.
Ddil and I have decided that we are going to have a 'pop up' shop in the New Year, selling antiques, vintage and household items at very reasonable prices and we are also hoping to have a website, so will keep you informed.
My DB is back home having been offshore for 5 days only (but better than nothing) and is hopefully coming up for the weekend.
Was it Meritaten who asked if I could post pics of my 'makes'? I will try and get Ddil to sort it (it's way beyond my capabilities) and my DS has a bad back (and is therefore grumpy) and is away on a course for the next week and a half in any case.
Oh, nearly forgot - Silva, I've used the halogen oven a couple of times - roast vegetables 15 minutes only and I've also cooked fish which came out perfectly, so am hoping to see a difference in my electricity bill in the future.
Have a good weekend, Folks.

nursemaggie I feel for you with the housing situation. I empathise greatly with the feelings of not knowing. I do hope this comes to a speedy conclusion now and you can begin packing and unpacking.
From experience I can identify with the situation and packing, for me, focused my mind and gave me purpose. Have you any certainties that can give you hope?
Only headbands/ear warmers with panda eyes and ears to report today. It's not MM&Ming really as it's indulgent creativeness that isn't really needed as the kiddlers have enough winter head gear but I have enjoyed the process and the kiddlers have enjoyed receiving.0 -
And what is wrong with creativeness and I am sure you are using left over yarn. fuddle. Been being creative with mittens myself.
I have good news We are viewing the flat tomorrow morning. Then I must minimise all of the mittens I have knitted to CS along with some toys DGS has grown out of or will have by the time they visit in the spring.
Nothing else to minimise but have packed, toys, and knitting stash now need some boxes for the rest.0 -
Good Luck, NurseMaggie, you deserve it!

nursemaggie - hope the viewing goes well tomorrow
fuddle - your panda headbands sound fab
Viv- a pop-up shop sounds very exciting, keep us updated
Not much MMMing going on here to be honest. Wardrobe tidy out is now finished and I have a bag of clothes to go to the charity shop (must remember to actually take it :rotfl:).
Need to make a concerted effort this week to make more christmas cards as I started off well and made 10 then haven't made any since. Also need to have a look for the christmas tree and decorations (can't remember whereabouts in the flat I put them).
Got a small pile of mending to get through - top of the list is the outer pocket on my winter coat, the stitching has started to come out round the edge so want to sort it before it gets worse.
Hope everyone is having a good weekMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
