Meritaten don't know if you collect Tosco vouchers but their clubbed card deals include Topps Tiles at 3x voucher value...would that cover your make do for your tiles? It only covers tiles tho', not adhesive & grout ;)

dashed out today to collect sponsorship then back to hack back shrubs that are threatening to take over the garden!!!

Made a lovely lunch with left overs! Tagelletelli cooked until tender. then threw in bits of left over salmon; left over green beans; little chopped garlic; chopped half a tomato; beaten together 2 eggs/ 2 tablespoon cream/2 tablespoon parmisan; salt and pepper stirred well. Served - scrummy! :D

Tonight, after teaching, I was near Morrys so when in to see if i could get any YS at about 6.45 - loads of bread (7 bakery rolls/ french stick/champagin round loaf/burger buns) and a peice of Taw Valley mature cheddar and 2 lemons. Cost £1.79!!:j

Remember that diet idea??? Well to cap it all watched the choccy section of Bake Off - Im sure another 3 lbs snuck on while I was watching! :rotfl: bit disappointed in the challenges tho - all of them were things Ive done or similar to??? Couldn't believe that none of them had done a chocolate souflee??

Now you all know why I am of the cuddly variety :rotfl:

Good Morning all.My downstairs walk around phone keeps playing up I think its past it best now as I have had it 14 years and its just not holding a charge anymore .I have two land line phones upstairs one in my study and one in my bedroom so one was unplugged and re-plugged in downstairs.I really don't need three phones in my house ,especially as I rarely use them as most people phone me on mu mobile anyway. So the old walk around one is going in the bin and I am saving buy not going out to get a new one.so that's my Make do for today ,Mending I have some buttons to sew on in my sewing basket that are way overdue.
I suppose I am minimising my food stocks at the moment Its a new month so a new budget in my purse.I was going to go an do a big shop in Aldi's and Lidls but the sun is out and its far too nice a day to be shopping I think I'd rather take myself off for a walk around our local country park with a small plastic container and see if I can nab some blackberries. I like to make the most of the sunshine as I can as all too soon we will be back to grey skies and rainy weather
Have a great day Chums whatever you are doing

Happy October MMMers - love this time of year, autumn is definitely my favourite season :D

I've been to the gym this morning and to the library. I borrowed a couple of books about christmas crafts plus a few on gf cooking so will be having a look through them later.

Not much planned for today - just a bit of tidying/ironing and then up to work. Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Morning all,

Just enjoying the luxury of finally having time to post!

The last two weeks have been busy and a little exhausting, but next week will see the start of a new routine for the term so it should at least settle down a bit, if not slow down.

I've managed to do one row on the rug. I've cut up old brushed cotton pajamas as well as a few scraps from a couple of pairs I made--should be nice and warm and soft and not fray too badly. The cat LOVES to sit on the plain bits of the hessian. Do you have pets vulpix? I can't imagine what the attraction is for her.

I brought OH back a flavored oil and a flavored balsamic in little spray bottles and a cured meat from Italy. We're going to have them with salad, bread, cheese etc. for tea tonight. I'm hoping the spray bottles are refillable as I found they dress salads very nicely.

This morning I need to make a quick trip to the post office, quick tidy around the house and then we're going into town when OH gets home from football. He needs a new hair cut and I need new trainers. I keep putting it off, but it really is time. Not only is the support gone, the tread worn down and slippery but now little bits of foam come out of the heal each time I take them off because I've worn through the lining there. There are some things I just really don't like to buy and trainers are one of them.:rotfl:
  • Hi all
I read this thread regularly but don't get a lot of time to post.
Today I am mending, DGD7 has 3 teddies that have developed holes and she & DGD4 both have onesies that they love, but the zips have gone, I'll probably order the zips online as they are very long.
I managed to get a pair of Disney Stompers in the CS today, so all the DGD's can share them when they visit, we have one DGC every weekend.
I have just tidied the fridge so I will make some spicy veg soup later with all the veg oddments for my lunch.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

JackieO, Before you bin the old phone, make sure you don't just need to replace the batteries. You'll need to buy like-for-like, the ones in mine are NiMH, not standard AAA batteries, so take an old one with you when you shop. I bought a new pair of phones recently, which I hate, and only afterwards realised the rechargeable batteries could have been replaced in the others.

    Phew,another busy day over

.The shed which we put up in Mum's garden and filled before the house move has been emptied, dismantled and assembled and filled in our garden. This has taken 6 hours

.I still have lots of heavy stuff waiting to go in the loft.

The best job we will try to do tomorrow. My friend lives up the road and has some drawers of mine on permanent loan. They are narrower than the ones in the front bedroom so they need swapping over. Her stairs are very steep so plenty of cussing no doubt.

Mr V working tomorrow 'till about 5 so I will potter and spend some time in the garden.

FPK we don't have any pets.I did wash the hessian, perhaps it is the novelty of a new thing in the house, when I had a cat she would go to great lengths to be noticed.Sitting on whatever I was trying to do or in front of the TV or book.

I have had family round for food tonight as usual I made much too much, will keep Mr V and dd2 going all next week.

We had the heating on tonight for the first time.

Enjoy your extra hour in bed folks Vx
