Fuddle health food shops may stock tapioca and coconut flour"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0

FUDDLE if you have a GRAPE TREE shop locally they do a tub of coconut flour for £4.99p.0

It is also sold on Ama*zon at a similar price to what Lyn has quoted.

Sorry Jamanda have just read your post

thanks all. I've never heard of Grape Tree Lyn but a quick check online and I find I am surrounded by them :rotfl: but health food shops got me thinking about Holland and Barratt. I have one walking distance so if they do click and collect I'm on to a winner! Thanks
I'm not an Amazon Prime customer so will probably have to pay P&P but I could well find it on subscribe and save. Thanks for the ideas!
As you might have guessed it's a way of using 'flour' that doesn't contain grains. It can be made into brownies, breadsticks, flatbreads, pancakes and cakes. Actually reading that back I might not even need to invest in the coconut flour as tapioca will do what I need it to do :rotfl:0 -
Evening All
Another day zoomed past! Did nt sleep well again last night so allowed myself to get up an hour late. If I dont do this I just feel lousy all day so, since I am semi retired it is a luxury that I allow myself!
then I shredded some more stuff - washed up - did some data entry for CAMRA (unpaid) and tried to cut down on the 200 e-mails that had accumulated when I was ignoring them over the weekend to get the bathroom done! Still not down em all yet! Gulp
Then had lunch - used up most of my posh beans as beans on toast - v yum the second day. the had to prep and go teaching for a bit. Came back and stripped the mastic from round the bath (raining so could not paint the door) It is supposed to be OK tomorrow so painting masticing and CS donatiing and tip run tommorrow! Phew! Early bed to nite - I 'll let you know if I make it or collapse in the attempt!!!
that reviewing sounds interesting - no time to look at it at the moment but I will keep in mind for when Ihave moved!
Making do today - hum emptyish cupboards - forgot to take meat out of freezer! And Lo a risotto appeared (bacon, pea and garlic ) and Minimised the last of a packet of aborio rice (sorry re spelling but hopefully you know what I mean!!)
No mending today - but hopefully loads tomorrow!

MyHappinessProject wrote: »GQ I used one of these tins for the first time recently, for a strawberry cheesecake(broken biscuits/butter for the base) and it worked out amazingly well and looked fantastic, you could see all the layers . Yum. I was surprised how easy it was to use. Hope you have fun trying it out .

MyHappinessProject, I know you posted this a while ago (I'm still trying to catch up on the thread!:eek:) but I wondered if you had the recipe for that strawberry cheesecake. I've never made one before so a nice, straightforward recipe sounds good! If anyone else has equally good cheesecake recipes, pass em on!:TEvery act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

FUDDLE the GRAPE TREE shops sell dried fruit, nuts, herbs, spices, alternative flours, sweeties, cake decoration stuff etc. they are usually where the Julian Graves shops were located. I don't know if they are owned by a company or if it's a franchise but they are the source of much reasonable and good quality stuff.0

I have minimised one of my two existing strawberry beds, whose runners were escaping all over the allotment in leaps and bounds. I created two new strawberry beds out of the biggest runners and tried to give loads away. You can't give 'em away, all my lottie neighbours are in the same boat. Up to our eyebrows in the bliddy things.
Anyone who wants strawberry plants could take a stroll to their nearest allotments at the weekend and ask if anyone has spares, I bet you'd be successful.
Now I have the second bed to organise and several dozen more runners to rehome, but can't make any more strawberry beds or there will no room for any other kind of veg or fruit up there. Strawberries will rule the world if we let them.:rotfl:
ETA I would just like to add that this strawberry mania started in about 2007 when I was given 6 strawberry runners by a lottie neighbour, which I moved allotments with me. They have been prolific and have been donated left, right and centre, known locally as Mike's Strawberries. This variety has been circulated around our allotment site for decades and is almost certainly a variety called Cambridge Delight. But nobody knows for sure. Very large, fragile berries, can't be transported and have to be eaten on the plot.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ - what a shame - strawberries having to be eaten in situ!!! A hard job but someone's gotta do it :-)
Wishing I was near your lottie!
