    Evening All,

    Just lurking at moment.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, Silva. I had to smile about your 'dip'; when I ran away to the Caribbean, I was so tired, I fell in the first time I tried to get on board the yacht; it was just as well I was wearing a life jacket as I can't swim!

Vulpix, my DB who is something very technical, electrically speaking, offshore, says that the thing to do with a sulking fridge when you move it, is to turn it upside down for 24 hours. I haven't needed to try it for myself, but it might be worth giving it a go. When he moved his up the mountain last month (don't ask!), that's what he did.

    Viv xx

Blue green - our favourite with black currants is to stew them with a bit of water the press through a sieve ( I rub the puree through with a wooden spoon) then one cool we swirl it through cheap vanilla ice cream to make blackcurrant ripple. Kids love it , but I usually try to save a bit of the coulis to mix with yoghurt or porridge for my breakfast . one of my favourite fruits. Plus if you do the sieve think you don't need to top or tail them before cooking.

Jackie O - I make red currant jelly - this year I've had 2 KGS so far - not had chance to do the jelly when I picked them the other day so froze them. I chop up some rosemary & put that in too - I usually do about 8 jars but lucky if they last ubtill Christmas as the kids like it with everything from sausages to chicken & lamb. Nevercate currants until I got my allotment a few years ago , but I love them now

Plus took two Ikeya blue bagfuls of carp to the tip via the pushbike. Five-ish on a Sunday is clearly the time to go to the tip, it was deserted apart from the staff and there's normally a humungous queue there at weekends.

Of course, being as I am of the cycling persuasion, traffic queues are something which other people sit it, whereas I sail past.

Righty, quick shower then I shall make do with a fridge supper and then kick back for the evening.

GQ, excellent use of the bicycle there; it's a real 'force mulitiplier' for us of an OS/Skinflintery persuasion. :)

    Hey y'all!

Have just caught up! A lot of reading! Havent you all been busy!

Well I am a very lucky bunny - am currently house and dog sitting for my friend who looked after me last year when I broke my leg. She says it saves her loads of money in kennel fees - she is currently off on a cruise!! (I am not envious as it is not my kinda thing - tho I would like to visit some of the places they are going to!) As far as i am concerned it is brilliant - holiday for free in Cornwall in her well appointed house and having a lovely little woof to play with! She is just fantastic little hound and very obedient! :j

Silver - congratulations on your Wed Anniversary. shame about the undignified dip!! But v good safety equipment worked. Jackie O - soda scones - yum!!! All of the wedding stories are so interesting - mine was simple - because we were not well off and I felt that since I was not a church-goer it would be rude to marry within a church we had a registry office wedding. It lasted 14 years and despite everything that went wrong we are still friends and he was a wonderful help when my Mum passed (they both lived in Cornwall)

Am trying to be MM&M and keep to a Sl!mming World diet while I am here so that I go back home healthier in both body and purse!! :T
Back on here tomorrow - hopefully!
    Frugally forward folks!
Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)
LBM: started Jan 2012 - still learning!

    Morning all

    Happy anniversary for yesterday silvasava!

I've had a fairly good MMMing weekend :)
    - minimised more paperwork and took it to work to shred
    - minimised some clothes, must drop the bag off at a CS this week
    - washed my heavy jacket at work so I could use the tumble drier (else not it takes ages to dry)
    - got the food shop in and stayed under my £20 budget
    - ate lunch and tea at work for free which allows the food budget to stretch a little further
    - a NSD yesterday

Today should also be a NSD - am heading to work at the moment then popping round to see a friend after work and then to the gym later. So hopefully will be too busy to spend ;)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Thank you all for your Anniversary wishes - we went to the sailing club so we could tidy the boat up I'd left a small box on her with salad stuff &half a cucumber that would have been very yuk by the next time we went out. DH bought us bacon baguettes which were really yum - he does know how to spoil me lol! When we arrived there I was greeted by a chorus of 'Hi Mermaid'.
A couple we know there have just changed their boat & she's asked me if I'll do her cushions for her !!!!!!
Need to check the garden today, I did pick three cucumbers yesterday to give away but there's Raspberries & loganberries that need picking over & I think my beans have started producing.
Grey day here today so I think a chicken & mushroom pie from the freezer will go down well. I've got my aunt's husband staying this weekend while she's in respite & he & DH are taking their motorbikes on a charity run on Sunday for our local hospice so I need to make up his bed and do a menu plan for the weekend.
I also need to reboil some rhubarb and Ginger jam as its too syrupy & needs to be stiffer & yes Ricardaracoon I will be watching it :)
Do hope you get your fridge sorted Vulpix ( I love the look of the coloured ones - is yours the powder blue?)
Hope you all have a good start to the week x

PS: Forgot to say have a lovely holiday Lyn x

    That's it,, I'm moving to Yorkshire :):):)

janb5 Thank you I shall keep a good look out for redcurrant jelly in Lidls now,I have a smart new one opened up in Sittingbourne recently and will be going there for my shopping in future instead of the Maidstone one.
Everyone I have spoken to about it over the weekend said "oh yes, you have it on lamb don't you ?" No:eek: I would like it on unsliced Hovis with butter and a slice of fruit cake for an old fashioned 'teatime treat' it will take me back over 60 odd years then :):):)
Today I am hoping to sort out some too full kitchen cupboards as I have aquired far too many dinner plates and crockery they need to be culled to the CS :D That should keep me busy for awhile Lunch is celery soup and crackers with pate. dinner tonight will be probably acheese salad as I have some nice strong cheese that my DD gave me yesterday as the boys said it was too strong for them :) I love really strong cheddar,I may mix up some cheese scones this morning as well
have a good and frugal day chums
