Ok - shall we do this another way. I know Jackie O lives near me but havent got a clue about everyone.
Could we make a list of all those interested in principle- a bit like the list on Page 1. Maybe we could either meet half way or do it in 2 regions? I live 16 mins from Victoria train station and would be quite happy to invite you all here. Of course the sun will shine to order and we can sit in the garden and eat strawberries and cream!
I am pretty good at making cakes too..............!0 -
I live in Lincolnshire, Jan; I can get a bus to Victoria Station.

Ok Viv- was it you that made the list on Page 1 for Cheerfulness? Is it useful to do another one for proposed meet up or leave it a bit?0

It was Cheerfulness who did it, Jan - far too complicated for me! Shall we give everyone a few days to mull it over and then see how many 'interesteds' we have?

Hiya All
I would be intrigued to meet up - staying overnight might be expensive in London but not so somewhere along a trainline/motorway out of London?? (Just a thought) If I can invite myself along then I am in Milton Keynes - so an ideal spot for me to get to most places tbh. There are lots of hotels here - like Trusthouse which are not too dear - can look up if that is what is decided. As for timing - Early July or any time in August would be OK by me :-). happy to offer a venue (but my house is quite small - we d all get very friendly :rotfl: but have had parties of 30 here!) or to travel to JanBs (or elsewhere!!)
Grey Queen - my new favourite word 'bleugh' a brilliant - just brilliant invention!! I was also out walking with a friend today - alongside one of the beautiful local lakes - so vibrantly blue under a blue sky - we have a Buddhist statue/temple here and it always feels so peaceful there!! Friends can be fab - just walking talking and down loading. very cool! a little petrol used but otherwise free!!!
Also got invited out for evening meal (different person) but turned the offer down three reasons 1) although I insisted that IF we went out for a meal we would go Dutch - because of the expense 2) I was really looking forward to what I already had planned 3) this chap says he only wants to go out as friends, dont get me wrong - he's been a perfect gentleman, but I feel he wants it to bloom into more and, as sweet as he is, I really could nt fancy him. Bless him. I dont want to hurt him and he deserves someone really nice in his life - but it wont be meso I dont want to give him false hope.
Anyhoooo - reviewing financial situation - I counted up what was left in my purse after my day out on Saturday and it turned out not to be so bad after all. I had £7.53 left in there. Since all I needed was loo roll this week I have decided to follow JackieO's example and not shop this week - I really have enough grub to feed an army!!!!! So, thats at least £5.54 saved (local shop charges £1.99 for 4 loo rolls - much dearer than L!dils but if I go there I ll buy other bits) Cheap loo roll is not always a bargain so I rarely buy it unless I need to! LOL
So thats me being good today after all my other rock 'n roll days out!! A bit of gardening tomorrow - if the Gods of weather allow me thinks! Off to bed soon. Nite allAim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)
LBM: started Jan 2012 - still learning!

Morning all - just through a long post and I lost it -Gods way of telling me to keep it short!
I'm up for a meet up- I'm on the Hampshire /Sussex border & happy to collect another 3 for the drive! Let's get the party started
Smashing day yesterday - intended to do washing & strip bed & make some dinners for the freezer. DH was at the club welding & rang me to say did I want to go for a sail with one of the ladies.
Had a wizz round & when I got there she had decided I could do with a bit more 1 to1 tuition. So I sailed her boat (same size as mine) manoeuvred it off the mooring, helmed across the local channel and back and put it back on the mooring under her direction. She has been incredibly supportive to me and has become a friend and mentor. I do so admire her - she's 81, lives on her own and sailed single handed sometimes. Felt quite choked when she thanked me for my company - as we,be said before - friends turn up when you least expect it.
When we came to drive home there had been an accident somewhere and all the roads were gridlocked and another couple who lived locally invited us round for dinner so DH & I, DS1 and my friend had a lovely evening with them. I do love a bit of serendipity.
Today will be finishing all the jobs I didn't get done yesterday - Hope everyone will be OK in these high winds that have been forecastSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Me too, would absolutely love to get to a meet up and put names and faces together so I know who I'm talking to when I read and post. I already have met SILVASAVA which was so lovely and involved lots of coffee, giggling and chat, could I come too please?0
