I'm sorry for the emotional upheaval Twin 1's news brings. From a complete outsiders perspective, I've never got the impression she was capable of keeping promises, or of offering a steady presence in her DD life. Nor do I have the impression she is able to offer real love - the type a child needs to thrive - sustaining and practical - a safe roof, nurturing, consistent 'actions speak louder than words' love, food on the table: as opposed to intermittent sentimentality.
Trust your instinct re the staying with her mother Mooloo.

You seem to be very busy given the traumatic week you have had. Please take care of yourself as much as possible.

Time for an early night. What didn't get done will just have to wait. My brother went to the funeral people today to see Dad. Apparently they have given him two roses to hold, named Grand Prix. As dad loved his f1, that sounded appropriate. One of the pieces of music chosen for the funeral is called Nimrod. - Dad used to work on the Nimrod after he left the airforce and went I Marconi.
Brothers Partner was helping mum with mission control. Dad had every phone bill since 1997, and grocery receipts etc, and some fuel bills going back to the 1980's!! Lots of shredding going on at the moment then!

Morning, I went to bed early, but did not sleep too well. Between weird dreams I was awake and itchy. I slavered baby oil on in the middle of the night, as I'm out of the other creams. All my savlon, e45, and the Clobaderm, used up. ( what a great name for a skin cream!)
I've made my tea here in bed, ready my emails, and need to get my head around today's plans.
aviva took out £76 I wasn't expecting. My contents insurance must have been on an automatic renewal, and I've already paid another company for my insurance. So I need to get hold of Aviva and cancel. So annoyed I missed that one, it will cost me money now instead of saving me money! When I can least afford it too.
    Too much on my mind.
Today I have the second session with a school girl coming at opening time. I had wanted to trace out a pattern for her, but didn't get around to it, so she will just have to cut out her size from the sheet. If I want to make the dress in another size I will have to get another pattern. Not a major problem. Just highlights I have too much to do.
The flags and letters need to be cut out for the children's party on Saturday, and the funeral is tomorrow, so it needs to be done today.
There are 6 fabric boxes that also need to be made for a little girls bedroom ( one of the party hostesses). So I see me having to do those before any of the alterations that have come in. I have the theatre costumier coming in today, so will get her working on the party things with me, and she will come in on Saturday to help me. I need to tell the babysitter that I will need her to work longer or bring DGD down to the shop, as the second party is at 4-6 when I usually stop at 4.
The garden furniture covers are started, but can be finished on Monday, as they are needed the following weekend.
Looks like I will be very busy.
Jobs at home will have to wait a bit longer this week. After the funeral is over then I hope that things will get into a routine with the new staff and I can delegate work accordingly. It is good to know that I have help now, and don't have to do everything myself any more.
I'm hoping that things will be on more of an even keel soon.
Also that the collections are soon done, and the money gets in the till.
The takings have been low this week, and the rail for collections was getting pretty full. The in rail was also full when I came home on Tuesday evening. ( which is good, as there is plenty of work to do).
    Have a good day everyone.

    Bathroom cleaned.
Washing hung up, new wash on.
dressed, breakfast and ready for the off.
Recycling stuff out into the bins.
    aviva contacted and policy cancelled.
Lunch made ready to take, save me buying in the baguette shop.
Was a bit cold though so heating went back on! Think I'm warm enough now to turn it down, just drying DGD's socks on the radiator at the moment.

Why not get her to trace the pattern? It's part of sewing after all.

Mooloo I have a technique for multi-size patterns to preserve all sizes. I cut in to the lines at a right angle down to the line I want all along any shaped edges and then fold along the needed lines. Straight lines just get folded. It takes a bit of time and these days I often just trace on to grease proof paper, especially with KwickSew patterns because the quality of the pattern paper is too good to cut up.

    Not looking forward to tomorrow!
    Can't sleep.
Been busy all day. Masses of work in. Just hope I have quoted enough to cover the costs. Not sure I am, well on some of the jobs it takes a lot more time then anticipated etc. I shall have to set the timer and check more often, and rejig the prices I quote for the obscure jobs.
Right time to try and sleep- again.

Well today is the day for Dad. His Funeral is at 12.30
I know that I will cry today. Must remember the tissues. He was one of the very best people. Not just because he was my Dad. He was a gentle man, and a Gentleman, he was funny, he was generous, he was a presence who commanded respect without him wven being aware of it.
He was a loving Husband of 61 years to my Mum, a father for 60 of those years, a grandfather to 11, and great grandfather to 15, the youngest being DS's baby born the day Dad went into hospital.
He was an RAF man for 32 years. Only resigning when travelling became too much for my Mum.
He helped as a Families Liason, he ran Radio Gan when he was there. He was one of the people I charge of the 12 SU bar, the Youth Club, and pretty much a hands on man.
Dad loved his electronics, gadgets, and Music. Computers he mastered when he retired. He was a methodical man ( we have fuel bills back to 1997!!)
He loved his Caravaning, and driving.
    He loved France.
He was proud of us all.

    The Best.
