Good Evening :hello:
Greying can I help you with what you are looking for? I understand that you don't want to share exact details but I know my way around a sewing machine if it can be made x
Luvvy - you are such an :A Thank you - but it t'ain't the sewing wot is doing my head in - that is just a case of me getting off my b.u.m and making a decision, and then getting and [STRIKE]knitting [/STRIKE] sewing itAnd don't you hide your talents under a bushel - you MORE than know your way around a sewing machine, you talented young thing :T Everything will rinse out in the wash just now. I returned to a positive e-mail today, so things may be progressing a little, and we've discarded plan A as a non-starter, so that made plans b and c redundant really - but how I wish that we could set up plan d........
Those biccies sound lush - well done 'Mum' and well done MissStarnac for being so kind to teacher - hope he loved his gift(sure he did

Mmm, tas been a funny auld day.....
I found 10p *roadkill* :j By a parking meter
I saw a TV *celeb* - I won't name 'em, coz they woz *obviously* slummin' it if they'd been reduced to filming in the metropolis
Again, someone taught me several things today, by their enthusiastic sharing of their passion :T
MrL have changed the packaging of their washing up liquid. It looks even more like that age old brand that is purported to leave yer hands soft.......
I saw our elderly friend who is so supportive of our *adventurising*Great to have a few words and see them so sprightly and active. Just the way I want to be
Dinner came together really well - the pizza dough rose really well and quickly and the tatties cooked nicelythe tatties didn't taste of a lot if I am honest, but they were ok.
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
the kindness of folk
for DP's engagement in something - it's taking it in an entirely different direction, but that's not necessarily a bad thing
for finding some *roadkill* - it's been sooooo long :rotfl:
Thank you so much for popping in, reading and joining in. I do appreciate it. Greatly.
See y'all later.

Good Morning :hello:
Mmm, just savouring the peace and tranquillity of a Sunday morningDP is still a-slumber and I've some moments without a radio or the TV on :j
We ended up having an early night last night, and it was bliss, as I think that we must have both dropped off to sleep soonish and we weren't disturbed by anything or anyone - a rare occurance on a Saturday night at Greying Towers
I spent 20 minutes or so watching the clouds before retiring to bed last night. It really was a spectacular show for free. Not only were they interesting shapes, but the setting sun was lighting them in such an insane manner - it made them almost other worldly. I was thinking about those programmes that Georgio and Andrew made about the art and food of Italy, and all the 'celestial' paintings that they have gazed up at over the course of those series. Those artists sure were talented to have captured what was fleeting, and ever changing - even if you were able to see it with your own eyes. To capture it for a painting is quite another skill.
We had a curry plate for dinner last night. It wasn't the most 'attractive' plate of food, but the massaman curry is so 'fragrant' that it is a pleasure to eatSo we had potato massaman curry, steamed cabbage, lentil dhal and rice;
I didn't put the 75g of sugar into the curry :eek: I think that it is sweet enough with the coconut milk, and my version comes from the Vegetarian Student Cookbook, but the version ^ is exactly the same as I used. It was quite a frugal dish, as the massaman curry paste makes enough for at least 2 curries, and I had a pot of paste in the freezer, so only needed to buy potatoes for the dish, everything else was in stock. I did use the last of my 15p coconut sachets from HB though.
Right, I'm going to rootle out some coffee and read a little bit of me book for a while.
See y'all later.

Morning Greying :hello:
I too am having a short while of peace without anyone else's noise - no musical wailings from next door, none of Mr Cheery' choice of music (to listen to or play), no kids screeching in the street, no powertools or gardening equipment...
Just me and the rain :j :j Been lying in bed reading for an hour and it' been *SO* nice and peaceful but now I'm rather peckish so here we are with breakfast
Oh! and I found my vegetarian student cookbook, so thank you for inspiring me to look for it :kisses3: Not that I've made anything out of it yet, mind you :rotfl:
Have a good day, and I hope one of your plans comes to fruition soon!0 -
Made a slight MSE faux pas whilst out shopping today.....
Found some roadkill today - the first for a while, exclaiming (much louder than I had realised) 'yay roadkill, I haven't found any in ages'.....bends down to pick up......OH said lots of folk were looking at me - they obv thought I meant dead squirrel or similar lol - and all for a penny!!0 -

:T:T And may Good Luck be yours for the rest of the day firesidemaidAnyway, you're doing better than me today as we just popped up the high st. and there was a 20p twinkling on the floor in M&$, by the back of the checkouts, just daring someone to pick it up...... I chickened out
Cheery - we managed a quiet/tv/radio free zone until past 10am. DP even joined in me quietly reading as he'd got a new library book too :T

Love that you are roadkill enthusiasts too. DS1 did very well in London and came up with about £2-worth by the end of our 4-day stint, most of it was 20p coins.
Have had a very pottering day as the week has been full of cakes for teachers, DS2's last day at school and two birthday cakes. My feet were really aching - still not quite recovered from street pounding - so I've spent a couple of hours both yesterday and today sitting in the garden doing nothing or reading and its been bliss.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Good Evening :hello:
Just a quick pop in from me as I need to do some project bits whilst there's still a bit of light left.
joeyjimbles - definitely *roadkill* celebrants here(although the furry kind.... notasomuch _pale_) Well done on your guidance with DS though - sounds like he's growing into an all-round good egg
Day was OK, and the definite high point was chatting to a cheery soul who's zest and organisation shone through as we talked. They made what could have been complicated, simple. Because they listened and understood what was required :j
Dinner this evening was Lebanese Gaspacho - dish I've made before, but it's relatively cheap, easy to make and can also use leftovers ! :rotfl: You can use oats or breadcrumbs - as specified in the recipe - or the 2 times I have made it, I have used cooked riceI served ours with flatbreads that had cumin, coriander, black onion and caraway seeds in the dough. The soup was topped with yoghurt, black onion seed and sumac.
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
kind people
people doing their job properly
the return of me 'hobby' mojo
Thanks for popping in. I do appreciate itGreatly
See y'all later.

Evening GP - loving your poncy yogurt swirl!:D
As always your meal looks mouthwateringly good! So very envious of your cooking mojo & never-ending creativity! Be a dear and bounce some of that mojo over this way!
We had freezer pasta - leftover frozen gammon (red stickered the first time round) & Mr T frozen broc (cheaper than cheap) - some mystery creamy sauce from the storecupboard stirred in - served over bargain posh pasta - think it was rosemary flavoured - filled a hole and used up bits - not too creative but covered all the food groups!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! rtandon - it deserts me frequently!Anyway, nowt wrong with pasta - we had it on Sunday night. But kudos to you because you got broccoli in there too! I didn't! I didn't get anything green incorporated!
And to top it off, as a little treat, we finished with a little bit of vanilla ice-cream, into which I chopped up some brazil nuts, a banana, swirled over a little honey and sprinkled some cocoa powder over the top. 'Chunky Munky' stylee - on the cheap! :rotfl:
*bounces mojo ball over to rtandon's crib*

Good Evening :hello:
Well, tas been a funny auld day. I made a decision to buy a piece of clothing in a sale. It was something of a gamble if it would compliment something else. It didn't, and you can't return sale items for a refund(although I did know this before I bought the item - hence the gamble)
I did drop lucky on the way home though. I got a YS'd cauliflower in m&$ for 35p :j and I got a punnet of grapes (500g) from there too, YS'd to 70pGood job I had in mind what we'd have for us tea, as these items contributed wonderfully
I tried out a new recipe which used some of the grapes, and the cauliflower got roasted, rather than use millet or rice - again.
We had Austrian 3 bean salad with tofu dressing (can't find a recipe on the net for it - sorry), which was supposed to have apples in it - well, it's not the season for nice apples, so I put the grapes in instead
, there was tomato salad, mung bean falafel (out of the freezer) and the cauliflower was roasted with some turmeric and black pepper
Yum! Didn't look particularly photogenic though, probably due to really poor light....
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
a loved ones safe return
experimentation that goes right
we got an unexpected refund from our energy suppliers :j
Thanks for popping in and reading. It is appreciated. Greatly.
See y'all later.
