Talking about turmeric paste, my massage therapist gave me a recipe to try.
Find a glass that holds 250mls and use it to measure out 125mls volume of turmeric, i.e.half the glass. Put the turmeric into a saucepan with 250 mls water and heat gently, stirring, till thick (about 7-10 minutes). You might have to add a little water to prevent burning. Once thick, add 70mls coconut oil and one and a half teaspoonsful freshly ground black pepper and mix well. Put into sterilised jar or jars and when cool store in fridge. Keeps up to 4 weeks. Add a bit to curries, stews, soups when cooking, or add a quarter teaspoonful to a mug of warm milk with a little honey for a bedtime drink. Supposed to be a good alternative to non steroidal painkillers, I am currently testing that theory.One life - your life - live it!0 -

Just thought i'd pop in and say hello
I have spent a few evenings catching up on this and your previous thread and it has really resonated with me. I have also noted several folks here from the original MFi3 thread.....
Absolutely love your take on life and endless gorgeous recipes.
We are about to embark on a new stage in our life. Have planned for a few years to be closer to family and 'downsize' life, house, job etc. Hasn't all gone to plan, been an up n down kind of year but we're finally getting there. Looking forward to unpacking after more than a year! (we did get rid of a lot of STUFF) and getting back on the MSE wagon fully.
It has been refreshing to listen others' enjoyment of a simple life - something we will need to do because of a lower income, but we also WANT to do. We have missed having an allotment & regular baking - Courgette Chocolate Cake anyone?
As you have noted often before, not everyone in RL 'gets' the MSE way - but it has put us in the lucky position we are in today.
Anyway, enough from me - thanks for listening x0 -
Yes, we were in London.
My eldest brother lives there so fortunate to have a base and the train tickets funded by MrT & TCB points.
Was rather impressed by DS1 - he needed clothes as 6th form is non-uniform but our kondo-ing has clearly had an effect and he wanted a few things he really liked to wear. Backed up by some basics from Primarni & a couple of local charity shop purchases (Harris Tweed jacket and original Aqu@scutum short mac for £8), he bought a few distinctive t-shirts from shops' sales and markets, and it worked out v well.
And we ate so well, making the most of lunch and pre-theatre deals. Lovely to have such a choice of different places to go; our only rule was that it must not be a place that we have access to at home.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Twinks Hobnobs recipe
Who are the lucky recipients going to be starnac? And do we get first dibs on *leftovers* ??(as if there will be leftovers!!!
)
Edit: starnac, you may want to use slightly less than the 8oz of sugar stated in the recipe - it does make a very sweet biscuit.
