When I challenged the postie about the same issue Greying ours claimed that when you fill in the form, a note gets taped to your pidgeon hole at the sorting office. He told me that mine had probably fallen off and he would check when he got back and tape it back up if it had. *rolls eyes* Needless to say the junk mail stopped again soon after! *sigh*Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

We too return to sender any junkity junk that makes it through our letter-slot!
The other stuff I gathered into a pile and when the postie drove up to deliver our post one Saturday morning I traded him the pile for my post and asked him to be a dear and pop it into our recycle bin across the way. He didn't bat an eye and did as bidden - but miraculously we have very little arrive through the slot now!
Given that it didn't phase him I'm guessing we are not the first on his rural route to do something similar!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Good Evening :hello:
And if that title never appeared as a double entendre in a carryon film, then there's no justice!I got the peaches from mrAl - they are currently rock hard, but I hope they will ripen and show me their true colours
Interestingly, in the box above, there was slick of juice - maybe some ripe ones had got squished? I also picked up a bag of frozen avocados to try, from MrT. They almost didn't get bought, as they had moved location, and were all jumbled in with the frozen cabbage and cauliflower. Difficult to distinguish the packaging
joeyjimbles - agreed, I think the only way to get them really crispy is to fry in some form, these were just more limp than I expected I guess.
starnac - that's what I've been told too - along with honest expressions of, 'I didn't bother looking.....' I appreciate their honesty, but I didn't appreciate some faceless 'customer service' operative telling me I wasn't on the list when i knew I was. How's the hols going? Are you camping at all?
rtandon - I miss the rural postie. We used to get post at about 6am when we used to live in the middle of nowhere. Lucky to get it before lunch now that I live in the 'centre of civilisation'
Well, the day has been lost to itty bittyness. Not sure I want to lose Saturday's to shopping. I know having Baby Greying makes it different, but I still dislike shopping, and don't want to be stuck in queues, eating up time. Ho hum.
Tea was a curry plate :j I DID use up the courgettes in the afore-linked Dalcha recipe :j There is some leftover to freeze too. I accompanied it with the Leon recipe for pineapple curry - for which there is no link on the web, I'm sorryI think it was in their 'Food for Friends' book - Book4? I used mrT EDV tinned pineapple pieces, straining off the syrup the pineapple comes in as it's not needed. Served up with some boiled rice that had nigella seeds running through. Picture here;
I think I'm claiming an early night, catch up with some z's
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
- baby giggles and squeals - spontaneous, innocent and such a lovely sound.
- warm sunshine - despite initially having to find my fleece to go outdoors
- a simple meal from stores - that tasted good and didn't break the bank
Thanks for popping by, joining in and for supporting me. It's greatly, greatly appreciated.

Aw shucks Verbatim you are very kind. Truth to tell, giggles and squeals are very easy to ellicit from Baby Greying - as amongst other things, they are as ticklish as their father
It was nice though, as we were playing together and DH was standing (unbeknownst to me) by the door. Cue floods of tears.... from him..... :rotfl: Does anyone know when the fellas oxytocin levels subside????? :rotfl:;)
:wave: to Pippi - wonderful to *see* you dearheart - hope you and yours are well
I was thinking last night, how good it is to have a few curry recipes to hand, as I don't think (I don't actually know, but it's unlikely) that I would be able to get this sort of variety from the curry houses/takeaways in the vicinity of Greying Towers. We do have different sorts; bangladesh, nepalese, thai etc, but the veggie options are always mushrooms or vegetables in X sauce. There never seems to be specific vegetarian curries.
I've packed up some snap. A day out beckons. Most likely a natty trusty property.
Right. Mustache!

Good Morning :hello:
Hope you are well
We had a lovely day out yesterday. Went to a local-ish natty trusty property. It took a while longer to get out of Greying Towers than I had anticipated, so we did only really go for a picnic lunch in different surroundings, rather than to take in the delights of the actual property itselfHowever, small steps and all that. Perhaps one day we'll be able to jump in the car and head off without taking half the homestead with us
Tea last night was Broad Bean risotto. The broad beans were frozen and were in the fArmf00ds 3 for £2 deal (bought a few weeks back), which made them about 66p for a 550g packet, which isn't tooooo bad - but freshly picked beans are nicerEverything came from stores, and it felt nice to have a *grown up* meal for once. Not sure we've had risotto since I was still pregnant, so, as I say, nice change.
Today is chores and chores and choresSo I'd best shift a tail feather. If all goes well, it will be a version of Greek casserole for us tea
Failing this, there are the spagetti hoops........ :rotfl:
Thanks for popping by and reading. Always appreciated.

Good Evening :hello:
Beanie - could you not get your chum Pippi to lob you over a few courgettes? I think she has something of a surfeitT'would be a :money: risotto then
Well, what a day. I looked at some clothes for Baby Greying in the charity shops....... and put most of them back, as they were dearer than new gear.......... :mad: I did however buy one item. It was £2.99, and originally came from m&$. It was just about a bargain - it wasn't too worn - in fact, it may have had very little wear. But it wasn't really over much of a saving, particularly if you got the original on sale.......
I have cleared some things away :j I'm re-claiming the house slowly
We did indeed have greek-style casserole for 'us tea' :j The spagetti hoops get to survive another dayUnfortunately, this is one recipe which appears to no longer be on the net, so I can't link to it
. I remember that it originated on a US homemade Vlog - what I can't remember is whether it was veggie to start with, or whether i just replaced 'ground meat' with lentils. Anyhoo, we've had it loads, I've made it loads of different ways and I've bored you with loads of pictures of it....... Tonight we had it with a sliced boiled egg, rather than Feta, as I'm using feta in tomorrow night's tea....... (anyone would think that there is some planning going into all this........ :rotfl:)

Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
- helpful friends finding links to suppliers for a gift for a special person
- that the sparrows have returned and made a nest (despite being disturbed last time by a neighbour) and I heard 'peeping' of chicks today
- that I missed the heavy rain by about 5 minutes #didnnottakeacoatwithme
Thanks for popping by, reading and joining in. Greatly appreciated. As ever
