  • Good Evening :hello:

Well, I'm counting today as a win as I didn't wake up exhausted! :j Starting to flag a bit now though, so this is just a pop in to say hi  , THANKS and adjust me siggie figgie as I made another batch of yoghurt over night, which turned out edible! :D

Everyones comments have been so helpful and so supportive - I'm sure I am not worthy of your kindness...... but tuna you did make me giggle with your clever word play :D .......
xx speedy healthy recovery wishes from Bucks to Beds flying your way xx

mrsI - you can't nonchalantly drop in 'trip to China' and not tell us all about it! So why was the food so different, what did you see that is different to Blighty, what was the best bit (apart from seeing your family, natch ;))

gally - I hope trying to keep eating *well* (ish) is helping in the long run, I really do :o

THANK YOU everyone - for popping in, and being kind enough to leave comments - I appreciate it. Very, very much.

I'm away to prep snap and then find the *snooze* button..... shouldn't be too difficult :D

  • Good Morning :hello:

well, so far, so.... ok this morn......

I didn't post the recipe/pic of 'us tea' last night, as I was flagging a little. So I thought I would rectify that, as it is just about a keeper of a recipe for me. I made it, entirely because of the name - I know, shallow ain't I? :rotfl: But it appealed to me, so.....

Anyway, I made Red Red (although I omitted the crayfish/prawn and the green onions). I thought first of all that it wasn't going to taste of much, but as it cooked along, it seemed to develop enough flavour to hold its own. I do admit to adding a pinch of smoked paprika, just to add a note of depth. I made a hash of cutting up the tomato as it got too dark in the kitchen (rain shower passed over) and the tomato was quite ripe...... is my story.....:rotfl: Anyway, I had to stand by the door to get a clear pic, so......

I've just finished up my brekkie *smoothish* (don't have any special equipment, just a stick blender and a pyrex jug......) and I made this one - not because of its name! But because it had beetroot in it, and I had some :D I also used soaked oats rather than just water, so it was creamy :D And I only used 8 blueberries, 50g is a bit steep on my budget, but then I also like 'savoury' tastes, I can see how most folk would prefer a more accented blueberry note......

Right, best shift a tail-feather and get and seize the day with a weak grip....... :rotfl:

Thanks so much for reading, and for your on-going support. It truly is appreciated. By me. Always.

morning, sorry, GP, thought l'd said l was going to see china based family, DS1, DSIL, 2grandnibs, in Shenyang, flew emirates (even in economy l was so well looked after!) had a day in Shanghai with them before flying on to Shenyang.
The food was so different to that in our Chinese chippy, the animal protein foods were very light on the palate, the sauces were very different, lovely spiced and saut!ed, pan baked, hot pot was like getting a bowl of stock, put on a gas or charcoal fire in the table, and you add whatever you want into the pot and eat it with wraps or rice, my fave was the spicy sechuan spiced broccoli and aubergine.
the 'buns' and the dimsums were lovely too, really well fed, and still lost 3 lbs. Possibly due to my non skills with chopsticks Best bit (apart from family) was Shanghai pearl market and silk market,
Had lovely massages, and their hairwashing takes best part of an hour, and includes an indian style head massage.
DDil looks after me so well when l am there, and it is nice to be able to treat her too.
Back to normality now, and wonderful Skype, DD managed really well while l was away, and Dgs dad was on holiday from work so he helped with DGS and did driving duty. They are really good friends now, which is so nice.

  • Good Evening :hello:

mrsinvisible - what a wonderfully uplifting post! Thank you for putting such a positive post on the thread, really :D There seems to be so much doom and gloom around at the moment, everywhere you look or listen (we won't mention the cricket :(:rotfl:) so it is nice to hear that you had a wonderful time, and that everything *at home* was ticking along nicely whilst you were away too :D

smilie - spot on. Cheese and tomato and wedges :D Really didn't feel up to eating pizza last week, never mind making it, so I must be feeling a little better :D

Thanks for popping by everyone, it is very much appreciated. I'll probably not be back on tonight, I think prepping 'us tea' and munching it will probably be as much as I can manage tonight - the mugginess is getting to me a bit - or is it just a hot kitchen?

Anyhoo, I appreciate your support. Always.

    See y'all later.
