Never a truer word spoken in jest........... It certainly feels like I've spent most of my time abed, as still I'm sooooo tired. If it goes past the weekend, I think I'll have to venture to the docs. I feel like death warmed up :(

Anyway, I just popped on because I spotted something on lovely Vegan chef Lee Watson's twitter feed (link to his blog here - where you can explore or link through to his T or FB feeds), that I thought may be of interest to anyone who either follows a plant-based diet, or incorporates it into their meal plans. Those lovely folk over at 'Made in Hackney' (I'm pretty sure my really lovely mung bean curry recipe was off that site), have got together to produce a recipe book full of budget friendly vegan recipes that is freely downloadable :D Don't you just love community spirit? Anyhoo, the first bit of the book (as it is primarily targeted at Hackney residents), is full of information about where to source ingredients - particularly in Hackney. However, the booklet then goes on to give a wide variety of recipes - which are costed out :D There look some corkers in there! :D

So, if you've a student heading off to college in September, or you fancy having a bash at some vegan/vegetarian fare, then take a look at the booklet. I think it's authors want it to reach a wide audience, particularly amongst residents of Hackney, but also further afield - so I'm sure it's one to share with other like minded souls :D But please be sure to credit the lovely Lee for the link - without his mentioning it, I wouldn't have known about it, and therefore wouldn't be able to pass it on.......

And I'm sure that if you have successful feasts as a result of using this booklet, then the crew at 'Made in Hackney' would love to hear from you. I think it is great what they do and promote, and totally respect their commitment to community endeavour, enterprise and education - send 'em some love :TCheck out their website :D
