Three Executors and small estate

Not necessarily unreasonable if the object has not been left to someone else
The concerning thing is the controlling mindset and approach by one executor who has (or claims to have) all the information to hand yet excludes others from seeing it, saying things like financials will be all wrapped up soon. We haven't even agreed whether the estate should go through probate yet, although he says there's no need as it will only tell him what he already knows...that may well be, but the other two executors don't know any of this.0 -
You MAY be able to take a death certificate into a branch of the bank and arrange the information you want. OTH you may get told they are already aware of the death and are dealing with someone else on it.0 -

It seems you were not involved in the house transfer if you were you would have had to sign it.
What you need to know is who are the trustees/legal owners, this can be found out from the land registry.0 -

Just had a copy of the trust sent to me by the other executor who has also not been party to details of the estate. It appears only he is the only executor named as transferee, holding the property in trust for all executors as tenants in common.0 -
The Land Registry entry will NOT give a definitive answer as to ownership. This has been here covered many times before.
I've been here,
got a copy of the register which matches the solicitors copy. Could you explain why this is not definitive please?0 -
I suspect g6jns is referring to the wider issue re any trust and beneficial ownership (for example who get what should the owner die) rather than the legal ownership as shown on the land register itself.
The existence of any trust for example or that the joint owners may have 'severed their joint tenancy' can impact on the circumstances covered by your post. This aspect is explained in our guidance on joint property ownership
Apologies g6jns though if I have assumed wrongly“Official Company Representative
