PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

Yes but you have to be logged in to see it.strawberries1 wrote: »Franklee is the debate house price board still on mse? I cant find it.0 -
Like splitting the craft forum off into a sub forum which killed what was a lively and interesting area. Hardly any posts now compared to what it used to be and the huge and previously popular cardmaking thread tailed right off. IMO being in a low traffic subforum decimates that communityNot particularly true, there have been a few historical pleas for changes to the forum that MSE has agreed was worthy. But you would have to have been on the forums for a few Years before knowing which changes have been made.

Exactly that. I've seen it happen many times before on other websites as well as other areas of MSE where IMO other parts of the forum have already been split too muchQuizzical_Squirrel wrote: »People like busy boards that buzz along. They don't like to log on and see the last post was 12 hours ago. They don't want to post a question and have no responses all day.
This is the way boards die. People look elsewhere for busier boards.
It's not worth visiting every day if there is only a half page of new posts and a smattering of responses. 0 -
That's dead right. e.g. I've always liked card making but only started reading the card making thread when I went into the Christmas forum to look up something else. Now crafts are a subforum both it and it's parent Christmas forum are much quieter I keep forgetting to visit. So much extra crafting goes on at or for Christmas there was an overlap and that cross fertilisation of ideas is now absentQuizzical_Squirrel wrote: »Exactly, franklee. I've seen it too.
Even if you think you're not specifically interested in a particular subject, a post might catch your eye and you respond. You probably wouldn't even have visited that board otherwise.
It's just like going to the shops. You go in a shop for one particular thing and come out with two extra different things because you happened to see them on your way. Turnover for the shop has gone up and it helps it stay in business.
Back in this forum, I was only ever here to read about buying as a tenant waiting to buy. However as I know a fair bit about renting I often answered those questions if they caught my eye. I'm sure similar must be true for many of us here.
Besides where would this thread go if there was a split:

The OP is an accidental landlord, a tenant and wants to sell is rental property and buy in the location he is currently renting in the transactions depending on each other. He wants to know how to manage both tenancies to make his sale and purchase.0 -
Have to admit unless I am specifically posting a thread, I hit the New Post tab. Making it entirely random as to what I see or post in.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
