PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

I don't think the options are clear and there is no "no change" option.0

"Buying+Selling" and "Renting+Letting". ie two sub boards.
"Renting" and "Buying, Selling & Letting" two sub boards.
My preference, no division, is missing from the poll!!!strawberries1 wrote: »For those who don't want it divided they can simply stay at the House Buying, Renting & Selling board and that way it's not divided and they can see all threads together.
Have a look at other sub forums on MSE and you will see that the threads in sub forums aren't listed in the forum above. Unless you are suggesting threads are duplicated which is an administrative nightmare. No one will answer anything if they think it's been done elsewhere. Everyone will start new threads in the forum where the regulars hang out as all they want is the best answer possible. I'd guess the other sub forums will likely falter so unless the mods move threads about how will they be sorted to the right place if some people are free to ignore any split an others aren't? Unless you meant something else in which case what?0 -
Franklee, you're right the sub board don't split the main board thread! Arggh!0

Franklee is the debate house price board still on mse? I cant find it.0

It's the one under this, on the dropdown list.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Not particularly true, there have been a few historical pleas for changes to the forum that MSE has agreed was worthy. But you would have to have been on the forums for a few Years before knowing which changes have been made.the wish to split the board is raised as a "new" topic at least 3 - 4 times per year
the answer has always been a resounding we are not going to do it
More importantly, that such a question needs to be posted in the relevant FEEDBACK forum.
OP, I think its a good idea, so maybe set up a poll in the Feedback forums and put it to a vote for the team to consider.

What a useless poll. I'm not voting.
If you add at least two more options, I might vote:
* English, Welsh & N Irish house buying, selling, letting & renting Vs Scottish house buying, selling, letting & renting
* no change0 -

Surely it should be split into:
England and Wales: Renting/letting out
England and Wales: Buying/selling
Scotland: Renting etc
Scotland: Buying etc
NI: Renting etc
NI Buying etc
As the legal systems/regulations etc are so different in each of those areas of the UK, this would be the "most sensible" (and would stop the whole "I think I can help here...NOPE, Scotland". And I've deliberately put that in quotes because I think (personally) the board is fine as it is...mainly because I have NO CLUE where "I want to BTL" would go, or questions by FTB about when they need to give notice on their rental to move into their bought place. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all
