In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. Hello,
I would be really helpful if the House Buying, Renting & Selling forum is split for easy navigation of relevant topics. Many FTBs and others looking to buy but not sell come on here so do those who're renting and on another hand those looking to sell but the information we seek differs.
Moderators and forum administrators please consider.
Apologies if this isn't where to post this.
Merry Christmas everyone!:j

I would split into Renting and Buying/Selling as there isn't much overlap between the two. But I doubt anyone with power will read this
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Agreed. Well a renting/letting and buying/selling. There are already fora for mortgages and house prices (probably there to keep HPC bores away), so I don't see why buying and renting are together for the occasional thread where there will be crossover."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

Yup! Renting & letting and buying & selling would be a starting point.
I could start a poll put as stated those with power to effect the change might not get to see this.:(0 -
You beat me. I was posting to suggest the POLL option (vote now). Make the thread as active as you can (bump) and then contact the admin directly (contact us) or click report. They answer...they r very good.strawberries1 wrote: »Yup! Renting & letting and buying & selling would be a starting point.

the wish to split the board is raised as a "new" topic at least 3 - 4 times per year
the answer has always been a resounding we are not going to do it0 -
After using the search function, it appears to have been raised and rejected quite a few times. I supported the creation of the House Price Debate forum as it had become almost impossible for people to ask genuine questions. Ultimately MSE pay for these forums and can divide them as they see fit.Been away for a while.0

This is true, but any community website that wants to engage with its members should consider the feedback from the community.
That doesnt mean they must always act on it.0 -
I would love the forum to be split into renting/letting and buying/selling. It would make it so much easier to filter out the topics I have no interest in.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

What about the buy to let questions ... where would you put them, for starters?
It really is not difficult to filter out questions.0 -
As Yorkie points out there are genuine reasons for leaving things as they are, and so far nobody has ever advanced any compelling ones for change.0
