I've wombled a 2-cent piece in the sm. Allegedly, dh has handed in two wombled receipts with 4 and 5 unclaimed points, and a 5€ voucher, but I haven't seen his receipt yet, so I can't confirm.

  • I am normally very good at sticking to the budgets i give myself for spending/saving each month, but this month has gone very sideways after the weekend.

It seems i decided to drink all of the alcohol in Newcastle on Saturday leaving my bank balance looking very very sad for itself.

Back on the wombling and money saving wagon from now on for the run up to Christmas!

Wow Sophie all of it? That's very selfish of you :) hope you didn't feel too dreadful the next day?

Gerry - the cycling definately helped for me. I am fitter post pregnancy than last time.

Dizzy - I would use the voucher. If it's going to save you money in the long run then why not?

Siebrie - you sent congrats a few pages back and I didn't get round to thanking you. Sorry!

Foxholes - brilliant. My son is a fab womble. Because he does stuff no one bats an eyelid about at his age. Like checking for coins under the Coin star machine in Sains or picking up every coupon he finds to check if it's an orange one :)

    Great work everyone.

Oh the number of times they have popped out from behind coin machines and have been crawling around on shop floors!! Over £7 of lost change next to the newspapers in a Tesco does not discourage them, and says a lot about the cleaning staff when they get up filthy dirty. :(
    Where there's muck there's brass.
They do eventually grow out of it.

Dh has just confirmed that he has handed in the 2 wombled receipts.

Yesterday, I wombled 7 receipts with unclaimed points, and handed them in at the self check-out. They were for 2, 2, 14, 32, 3, 1, and 28 points. I'm almost at my next €5 loyalty voucher again :)

I also wombled a 300ml cecemel bottle, collected through stamps at the sm (one stamp for every €10 spent). They were out of stock every time I tried to claim my prize, and in the end I went to the helpdesk, and registered my leaflet as a raincheck. Because at this sm, they will gleefully tell you you cannot claim your prize anymore if you are outside the claiming period, even if they know they were out of stock all the time. Value of bottle: €1.89.

  • Bob- It may as well have been. Greed! I didn't feel my best the next day and very much deserved it! My friend and I have now decided to do Sober November together, unsurprisingly.

Wombled 2p at the self service machine in Tescos this morning on my way to work. I think thats what we would call 'back on track' ;)

  • Tesco have coca cola, coke zero etc on buy one get one free at the moment and COS have an offer, buy coke zero or diet coke for free once the receipt has been redeemed. So I bought a bottle of coke & a bottle of coke zero which work out both free because of the offers, yay!
