Think that's mainly because the cash comes from parents and it grows on trees! And yes it is sad as probably the parents have debts to pay.

Sazzie a good point. I suppose what good is a penny when the cheapest sweets these days are 10p and more. The fact that 10 x 1ps makes the price of the sweet probably doesn't occur to them.
I wonder how to have a good balance between sensible discussions on money and raising he next scrooge

4 wombled Tesco points today and I am very upset to have found 2 price promise tokens in my inbox worth £8 and both expired this week

Oh no! Is it worth emailing Customer Services to see if they can reinstate them? I had a mini meltdown in SB once, shortly after having my first baby, about an expired money off coupon. I think the manager gave me the money off just so I'd stop crying and leave the store. It was for £10 though!
