Seems unlikely to me.
If the OP forgot about the account and associated debt, it would suggest that they are no longer using said account. If the account were not used for a period of time (especially one long enough to rack up 1k in charges) I would expect the bank to have contacted the OP demanding repayment, and long before now.0 -
