Anyone received confirmation of a Haven holiday yet? Or is it just Parkdean bookers getting their confirmation emails/letters so far.

Hi booked to go to butlins skegness this july 2015 and am thinking about cancelling the five entertainment passes they are trying to flog us as i am thinking you do not show any passes when you go swimming or use funfair & entertainment has any body got any recent experience of going to butlins skegness on sun holidays and can they please advise thanks

We went to butlins skegness in july 2014 and were not issued with any passes. The only thing we were ever asked to show was our keycard for the apartment and even that was only once the whole time we were there.

They sent the email today and expect it to be paid no later than Monday? Are their payment lines open all weekend then? That seems a ridiculously short time period to pay and I can see them getting lots of complaints from people who don't read the email in time.

Don't know if they are open over the weekend, but I made use of the online payment facility that they have. It lets you remove passes and linen, do accommodation upgrades and pay your outstanding balance :D

If you don't want to use any of the facilities on site, such as the funfair, swimming pool, or see the evening entertainment then cancel the passes. If you do want to use the facilities then pay for them.

    I agree with this.

As previously mentioned, people are getting a cheap holiday, and they still want to abuse the system by not paying for entertainment passes whilst having every intention of using the facilities. I won't be surprised if Butlins stop taking part in the newspaper token collect holidays because of the handful that cheat the system :(

That's quite good, some are still stuck in the past with paper invoice through the post and then phone up to make payment. I still think even with the online system it's still too short a timescale for payment - it's essentially 1 working day. What if you were away for a couple of days with no internet access? They would just cancel your holiday!

In the 8+ years that I have been going on the Sun holidays, this is the only one I have had that has given such a short time to pay. Most others have been 4 - 6 weeks after receipt of the invoice, and some have even let you pay a few weeks before the holiday.

And I must confess that I never actually appreciated that 19 January is Monday already, so didn't realise how short a time I did have to pay :o I paid on receipt of the invoice simply so that I didn't forget to do so.

There are sufficient codes in post #1 of this thread to make a booking.

The hire charge refers to the £9.50 per person that you've already paid the Sun.
Electric is covered by the Service Charge that you'll pay direct to the site.
I've never been there but Trip Adviser reviews are pretty impressive
