Pontins is a terrible place. We queued for 3 hours at Prestatyn, had filthy rooms and kitchen and very poor customer service.
However. It costs £40 for a week in February half term for me and my 3 children so I am going, armed with , insecticide and our own bedding
We will still enjoy ourselves

We had wristbands at butlins a few weeks ago and the door men were very strict about them, would not let you in the door if you didn't have it on - this was for the adults only, kids didn't need them :0)

I don't live far away from the Pontins at Brean, and even I have never heard a good word for the place. My daughter and partner took their kids for an easter break a couple of years ago just as break for the kids and it was terrible, they had to be moved to different chalets 3 times, 1st one had hardly any stuff in it, 2nd no beds and third had water dripping from walls with damp, final chalet was dirty but they did stay in that one, it was freezing cold and one little electric heater that litteraly ate the electric, they had a terrible holiday and luckily not living far away came home early. they did go to reception to complain but there was a long line of people waiting to do the same and a big sign on the blackboard saying anyone getting stroppy whilst complaining would be kicked out

I think it depends on the resort AND person. I stayed at a Park holidays last year and phoned ahead to ask how much for my brother and wife to visit. I was told that day passes were £x (sorry can't remember but approx same as the 3/4 day pass) BUT only a set number were available per day and it was first come first served. When I went to check-in the lady issuing the passes asked how many, I said 4 and then we got chatting and I mentioned my brother visiting the next day and she said as the van slept 6 I could have 6 passes and gave me an extra 2

Does anyone know or have experience of when booking a 3 nights & 4 nights consecutive break for the same site whether you are allocated the same accommodation or if you have to 'check out' after the 3 night break & 'check in' for the 4 night break? I've booked Parkdean Challaborough.

Unless you can arrange something with the site once booking is confirmed they treat it as two different Holidays.
I was at Butlins Bognor and done that.
They told me it wasn't possible as they wouldn't know what Chalet I would have.
Booked out in the morning,then back at 4PM to be put straight back into my original Chalet.:eek:

Glad to hear people have been mostly successful, was a good atmosphere last night :beer:

For anyone that did a silly thing like me, you can call Butlins when you get their confirmation letter and make sure that half board is charged only for the amount of people going! They don't charge for 4 if there are only 3 of you

My mum and dad asked if they could come so luckily the dates were still available which surprised me as it is a 9.50 only date!:beer:

We also booked another holiday to Bunn Leisure on a 9.50 only so did really well!

Thanks again EssexBoy and the others that helped and it was fun!:D
