Well Christmas seems to have passed even quicker this year somehow. Think its a sign of getting old!

Son just rang from Leeds and it seems there are quite a few floods although he is OK as he is at the top of a hill. My heart goes out to all those affected by the floods it must be dreadful for them.

Sorry you couldn't sleep last night Sheils, it must have given you a fright DD coming home unexpectedly.

We have lovely sunny weather here too firefly/Alfie, washing is out on the line. DH's DD2 is coming tomorrow and staying over for the night before heading back South.

Happy birthday to the DIL's GF for his 80th birthday Rose.

Alfie, did you mention scales? Frieghtened to get on mine as ate too much chocolate!

Hi Leanfun, Wingo hope you are OK.

Must get on and get the hoover out.

Terrible about all the flooding Sylvia, hope your family are ok xx Whatever happened to the snow we used to always get at Xmas that I remember when I was little! Now it's just constant rain!
Have a nice time with DH's DD :)

Hope you get out for a walk leanfun/Sheils and hope it stays sunny :)
Sheils...you will probably be jumpy and on edge for a while after getting the house broken into it. I was on edge for months after and it's not a nice feeling xx

Love the birdie pics fire**fly :A so cute! Hope the zoo managed to stay dry out of the rain!

Have you still got the family over Alfie? It's nice to have a full house :)

Well I did have a nice time with family over at parents house yesterday but had to come home early as I had another migraine. It never really went away properly from Xmas and ended up chucking up with it! :o I soooo hate having migraines and the only thing that shifts them is laying in a dark quiet room with ice pack over my head! Anyway I think it's gone now so gonna pop over parents to see if all is well :)
Hope it's a lucky day for everyone :) xx

Is everyone else fed up of turkey? First year we haven't had people here to eat my turkey curry so didn't make it as we had it when DS1 was here.

Glad your migraine is better now wingo. DD has been getting them lately too and will need to get herself to the Dr. Remember DS1 getting them in his final year at school too and then they vanished I think.

Hope you get a walk today leanfun. We have just been for one as a lovely day here. My washing on line too Sylvia.
Hope it stays nice for you too Alfie & FF.

    Off for turkey sandwich now!

Sheila's we didn't make it very far as it started raining. Not very heavy but we turned back home. For yes, you guessed a turkey sandwich. Not much left now thank goodness as I couldn't face any more. Have to say I really enjoyed it on Christmas Day.

Back to a bit more normality tomorrow but still a Bank holiday.

This time of year is usually hibination time but it's strange when it's so mild.

Wingo pleased you are well enough to call on parents today. Sorry to hear your migraine continued.

Rose hope you've had a good Christmas with GKs and all their visitors.
  • Sheils I bet that your DD migraines are caused by stress. When we are younger we put so much pressure on ourselves as we don't want to disappoint anyone. Does your DD have prelims soon?

I went to the GP with a chickenpox-like rash on the lead up to my examinations but the doctor said it was caused by stress.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Shame you didn't get nice long walk leanfun. Felt better for ours.

DD will be doing prelims 3for. She had to leave cooking one as it was day after our burglary and she kept being sick as well as headache.
She does get in a state and never does as well as teachers think she should. She was on full marks for the cooking at time too so she didn't have to redo it. DS1 who is exceptionally clever had to get sleeping pills for his first Highers

Trying again with pic as this mornings didn't apear at all.

Glad you migrain went Wingo and you were able to go back to the family.

It is always difficult when they are in their teens with all the pressure of exams Sheils hope she feels better soon. Sick of turkey as well Sheils as we got a fair size one as we were expecting DD2/SIL/GD as well.

Have had a lovely afternoon, DD1 arrived to take me out for a coffee and look around and we have a nice relaxing afternoon just the two of us.

Must get on as need to play catch up.

  • Been off this site for a while and didn't realise there was a Compers Inn - Merry Christmas one and all

I have been extremely busy with work and haven't had any spare time to comp at all - then today had an hour and did some comps - felt odd. To be fair I think I needed a break - wasn't winning anything and getting a bit fed up with it all. Break was a good thing so if anyone feels like that take a spell out.

Enjoyed entering the comps today and although only a few - you have got to be in it to win it and so might be lucky :)

Good luck everyone and thanks for posting

Decided to have a nice relaxing bath an hour ago. DH came up and asked if I had drowned, I replied "just because I have been in the bath doesn't mean I am no doing any comps, I did a fb comp for Table Table while I was in the tub" He roared with laughter. (I only did one mind) LOL

    Anyway decided to have a V & T now.

On a more sober note, my Son lives not far from here:-
