Phew, I am shattered. Went into town this morning and picked up some Star Wars t-shirts for my grandsons from Argos. They didn't have the sizes I wanted but as they are for dressing up rather than wearing as clothing in their case, I just opted for the larger sizes. They will grow into them anyway.

I used my Sparks card and got 20% off some trousers (for myself) and some nice tissue paper for wrapping the table presents I got from The White Company (white enamel hearts). Then I popped into a charity shop and bought myself a Laura Ashley dress (£10) and a Kaliko dress (£7) which will do for the Christmas period. We have a new Italian deli/coffee shop so I treated myself to a coffee and a look at the lovely Italian food stuff on offer. I will go back and buy nearer Christmas.

The afternoon was spent baking some Delia cakes, some of which might even make it to the freezer (which was my aim). The house smells lovely with all that baking.

Got my daughter, her husband and two boys coming for lunch tomorrow (baby due Monday!!) so I am going to have a nice early night just in case I am needed in the night. No wine for me as I might have to drive.

Next decision I need to make is whether or not to go to the Christmas markets in France. I have paid but still can't decide.

    Hi all
Good result in the pressie stakes today.
OH only has his brother and SIL and their two boys to buy for as he doesn't speak to the rest of the family. While doing the food shop in Tesco today we spotted the MiniMe Dolce Gusto machines on offer for £44.50.
We had £15 of ClubCard vouchers and doubled up so after buying a box of pods to go with we only paid £19 which was good, so that's his brother and SIL's present done. He didn't have a clue what to buy them but I thought that would make a nice present. I used the last of my wrapping paper to wrap it up- and blimey was it tough to wrap! :rotfl:

  • freespirit wow your cutlery holders are fab! You make so many wonderful things. You've inspired me now, i'm going to make some cutlery holders for next year when I have some time, i'm thinking about doing the little stockings but I might do what you've done as I really like those too. Thanks for the heads up on the doughnuts, I shall keep my eye out for them! Wiggle is better now, thank you for asking. He's had all of his antibiotics so we think his ear infection has cleared up, but he still has a cold. He had a bad cold before we went away, but for a couple of days on holiday he seemed better, but my brother had a cold (my family came with us) and now we think he's caught that one as he's all snotty again. But he's in good spirits which is the main thing!

whitesatin oh it sounds like you had a lovely day shopping. I bet you're on tenderhooks with your DD due any day! I'm inclined to agree with Ruth_honey, you should go to the Christmas market. The problem when these things happen is you feel like you don't want to leave your house anymore, but if we lived in fear we'd never do anything. I still get anxious when I go to the cinema after the shootings in America but I love going so i'm determined not to stop. But you have to do what you feel comfortable with.

Mrs_Ryan wow fab bargain with the coffee machine! I'm sure they'll love it.

Well I finished 'Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe' on holiday so i've now started on 'A Winter Flame' by Milly Johnson so looking forward to getting into that. I've finally managed to pick up Smooth Christmas on the radio in my kitchen, DH and Wiggle were dancing to it yesterday and DH was getting really carried away and shouting 'I declare Christmas is open!' He then started saying that we needed to put the Christmas decorations up this week as we're away this weekend and they need to be up by 1st December. I then reminded him that I actually always put the decorations up on the first weekend in December and not December 1st, he thinks we should change it. I don't know what's come over him! He's always enjoyed Christmas but never really gets into it beforehand, I think it's having Wiggle.

He is going to Top Golf today so i'm pondering whether to go to a Christmas Fayre at a hotel near me, the only thing is it's only going to be 5 degrees and he's taking the car. I don't mind the cold i'm just worried about Wiggle, I was thinking I could wrap him up in his coat, a blanket and foot muff and then put his rain cover over to shield him from the wind. I'll see how it is in a bit.

Free, thank you for asking about my op.It went really well,I am cured.I was amazed at how quickly I felt better.I was expecting to be ill for a long time but I feel fantastic.I walked round shops yesterday for 2 hours without a twinge, previously I would have been rushing to sit down after sit down.I have got a lot of metalwork in my back and lots of fused vertebrae which feels odd,but I expect my brain will stop registering it in time.

Get yourself to the Drs girl,I put up with it for years because Everyone I met with a bad back complained more than me so I assumed I wouldn't be taken seriously.I shouldv'e done it years ago.
